Donald Trump
Even though I am a non American I am very happy Trump won I was rooting for him big time.
He financed his own campaign spent $100 Million out of his own pocket and is not bought and paid for by anyone. He is a necessary antidote to the poison of political correctness that is damaging western civilization. I am grateful to have been part of history to be alive to have witness something like this. He is a great man and he will do the world proud, there is also an added bonus that a lot of us overlook. He understands Russia wants Syria he will let them take it and get out of there. Hillary made it clear she would find down Putin over Syria even if it meant nuclear war. We may have actually avoided a nuclear war here. Countries will now know the might and power of the United States once more and this is good you need to fear a bigger brother keeping you in check to ensure you do the right thing. Well done America, well done congrats on this victory you have saved your country and your constitution here and possibly the planet as we know it. " Look, I don't agree with all positions of the left or right. I don't have a problem with gays getting married, or even people getting abortions(too many people anyway IMO). I'm not a religious nutter. But those issues aren't personally dear to me. At the end of the day I'm voting for which side is fighting for issues that are personally dear to me. And more often than not the right is the one standing for issues that are personally dear to me. Yes, this makes me a terrible person because I'm voting based on whoever is fighting for things that are personally dear to me. And Trump managed to hit most everything. " You shouldn't have placed the two contradictory paragraphs right next to each other. You have to be realistic about these things.

People hate Vladimir Putin, but I honestly don't see why he's so bad? I get why the left hates his guts, and that's not much of a surprise. But other than that, I don't really see why we couldn't work with somebody like him? At least to a point where tensions don't have to escalate between 2 nuclear armed powers.
I think Trump is far more reasonable in dealing with Russia than the Clintons. His foreign policy agenda is 'safer' for America. Because there isn't anything more dangerous than escalating tensions with our nuclear armed rival over geopolitical bullshit happening in countries on the other side of the world from us. People have this attitude like the USA is expected by everybody else to "contain" the Russians. Maybe Europe should increase their military budgets so they can afford to defend themselves? Honestly as an American, I'm tired of my tax money going to defend your countries. Last edited by MrSmiley21#1051 on Nov 9, 2016, 5:43:27 AM

"I understand. But- and I could be wrong here, clearly I was wrong about the outcome- I think you're going to get very little of what you want, and a whole lot of what you don't care about. Obama ran on Hope and Change. We got a lot of the first, almost none of the second. I voted against Obama the second time around, not because I thought he was doing a particularly bad job, but because his campaign electrified me; his presidency was completely underwhelming. I think this will sound scarily familiar to a lot of people in 4 years. Remember that Trump can only really approve what legislation hits his desk- and most of the GOP hates his fucking guts. He's going to get heaps and heaps of standard GOP trickle-down, free-trade, "pro-family" stuff on his desk. He'll veto some, he'll pass some. But he doesn't have the coalition behind him to pass his agenda. This is the optimistic view, from my standpoint. But, I could be wrong again. A comprehensive, easy on the eyes loot filter:

" Even if the GOP refuses to vote for "the wall" along with Democrats, the GOP is still likely to approve conservative supreme court justices. Trump had to learn how to be savvy, and even a little vindictive toward his opponents, to be in the type of business he is in, because it's really cutthroat. Politics is cutthroat. If Trump threatens to personally fund primary challengers for the seats of his biggest critics in the GOP, I think you might find that they could be more reasonable. Places like Kentucky, landslide victory for Trump. If someone like Mitch McConnell opposes Trump's legislation, something which his electorate wants, Trump could easily toss him to the sharks. So opposing Trump could essentially be political suicide, if you're a GOP member. I don't think Trump is someone who's going to roll over and tolerate them putting him on lame duck status. He's going to come up with creative ways of getting cooperation from the GOP members. Suddenly some of the fiercest critics might become emphatic supporters. " People hate Putin because he's painted as the bad guy by the media. He's painted as the bad guy because he interferes with US oil interests. That's about it. GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.
