First of all this idea blame Russia for everything is getting old. I thought they were third world country and starving from sanctions. Yet somehow have resources to do what RNC cant let alone threaten the world with immigration to EU and whole host of other issues. It's becoming comical actually. Any problem is Russians fault. No proof just decades of indoctrination "mean godless nasty commies" and accusations are enough it seems.

But yeah wait until wikileaks releases Clintons full bathroom server files. Still prolly wont make a difference. She's protected by TPTB as DNC leaks shows and ppl are illinformed.

Trump is the "protest" candidate. Hillary is "business as usual" candidate. Around half of the country probably don't vote. Even if you win the election, you only have like 1/4 of the people supporting you, just so you know...

Friendly reminder than Sanders supporters in Reddit are particularly cultish (all the good ones jumped ship a lot of time ago). I wouldn't use it as indicator of anything (they are the 9%, :P).

Also, why everyone talks about Russia? The most simple explanation is a hacker that supports Trump, that's it (although I admit Trump plays into Putin hands, and that's not good at all).

PS: also lol at Trump being people's candidate. I'm not under any illusion Democrats are saints, but still, that doesn't make the Republicans any good (nor any safe if you understand their policies).I still wonder what advantage Clinton gets of all this, because there is not upsides to her decision.

Dude, Sanders IS Reddit. Without Reddit, Sanders would've been a fringe commie that nobody ever heard of. Redditors did all the propaganda that got Sanders 45% in the primaries. And those same Redditors are now super angry about the rigged primaries and the corrupt DNC. Bernouts will never bend the knee to Clinton. They are cucked but not THAT cucked.

An avowed socialist who honeymooned in Soviet Russia is getting a standing ovation in America in 2016 is Sanders. His supporters are cyring now but imagine how bad crying would be with bread lines like Venezuela. I'm glad DNC bounced him. Still Trump or any republican but Hillary will do for now too

I disagree. Reddit is the steam charts of the real world (it would be like saying that /pol/, r/the_donald and the blog bubble are Trump...and god those cesspools should burn). Also, the comment applies more to the people at r/politics and r/s4p. I've seen them go from blind idealists to cult members. I keep hearing in some subs that only a 10% of Bernie voters are voting other parties (it may have changed lately). That 10% is pretty much really vocal. It's the independents the ones that will decide this (and it doesn't look good at all currently for democrats).

A socialist that doesn't ask for nationalizations or heavy control of the economy wouldn't cause that. All the worst things Sanders propose are mostly shared with Trump (at least on economics), specially on trade (I have a nice post about it in the previous page). I disagree with the guy, but reality is reality.

I follow this stuff a decent amount, and the first noises I really heard anyone (anyone with a big name that is) making noises about Russia was the Clinton campaign manager on Sunday morning shows. I don't believe Trump mentioned either Russia or Putin in his 80 minute speech on Thursday. So why does the Clinton campaign bring it up?

OFC they didn't give the details, because that's not a thing American politicians do, but I would surmise they would, if pressed to, connect the dots from Trump saying in the primaries "I don't know Putin, but I think we'd get along real well", to Trump's tough-talk about shirking our NATO responsibilities, and pulling back our military in Asia. These are things that by proxy would allow Putin to feel more confident in doing more Crimea like stuff if he wanted to.

So that's that, but why is that a bad thing? Because Americans age 50 and older are conditioned to hate the godless Communist Soviets. It's just a simple play of framing for votes.

To the P.S. - Trump is 'the people's candidate' in the sense that his rhetoric is Populist, not because people on both sides of the isle are enthusiastic about voting for him. He says Populist things, but we'll have to wait and see if it translates into Populist voting - if it does he will surely be the next president.

Sanders is a social democrat. He might call himself a socialist, because it´s more spectacular.

Calling him a "commie" is just trolling. I´m getting a little tired of troll posts.

And comparing to Venezuela.... You would have to compare to e.g. Sweden under the social democrats.

The term he used (Bernie) throughout the campaign was 'democratic socialist'. He generally took care to use this term specifically and not just 'socialist' because the latter is still a bit of a dirty word for much of the American public. Had he labeled himself just a 'socialist' he would have done significantly worse.
