It's the opaqueness that ggg has wrapped PoE in. From shady announcements to flat out condoning game and trade exploits ggg has done nothing to make the game newbie friendly or to assure some sort of stability for the existing playerbase.

He wrote just one sentence I could agree with - sometimes it's too much searching and you never can be sure it's true unless was confirmed by GGG. I wouldn't say anything is newbie unfriendly though. I meet many newbies and can observe their progress looking at my friendlist and nobody has issues with that. My non-newbie friends almost always make their own builds and never had problems with lack of info.

The rest above the serious conclusion in OP's post looks a bit like a parody.
Exalt recipes? I won't even comment.
Fishing game for 'elites'? How do you know if it even exists? Fishing is the Easter Egg, most games have them and they're cool. Secrets are cool and motivating for many unless there's too many of them or they give too big advantage but I don't remind such cases.
GGG HIDING OP skill combo information from players? What should they say, "we released these dex gloves to make OP combo with that unique amulet and smart usage of x skill with y charges. Oh, and there is one guy who explored a skill in the way we haven't expected. here's what he did so these of you who can respec may play it before the nerf, and these who can't, well, are not lucky"?
Secret mechanics? Most of it is obvious, although I remember I was surprised when I realized PA doesn't work with totem long time ago.
Perfection? You can't be sure how this certainly works and you say they nerfed it. Maybe low level chars/items have more chances to spawn it or chances for certain mods change every day since the beginning but nobody figured it out?
Master crafting? It was in the game since the Masters release and in theory everyone could try it, although it's not a cheap thing. Many of us had no chance but also many people prefer to wait for things to be released/checked before they try themselves. If you don't try to find a recipe, don't be angry someone else did.
It's just my opinion, don't bite me, please.

THE TINFOIL HAT IS STRONG WITH THIS ONE. Seriously though, there's a lot less "secrets" in this game than you think. Currently, the only ones are fishing rods, albino rhoa feathers, and the "a click is heard in the distance." Or krillson if you count him, but he's confirmed, just not many people have a fishing rod to actually make him work. Also, in a relatively recent statement (1-2 months) Chris said that ALL vendor recipes have been discovered, which in turn means that there IS NO EXALT recipe.
Oh yea, in another news announcement early this year or late last year, Chris also said that as far as he knew, only one person had discovered the secret to fishing rods, and he wasn't sharing either.

I kind of like some of the secrets. I thought I figured out some recipe just a couple weeks ago. While vendoring random junk I got a block reduce gem. I went to the wiki to look it up and it was already known. I hope one day I load a bunch of junk into the vendor and get an exalt or something unknown.

I do agree that it would be cool if it was known somewhere how many vendor recipes exist and what they award while maybe not revealing the items required to get it.
