If you enjoy connections between numbers so much, then I do think you are missing your calling - theoretical physics. Although the math may be different, finding that obscure mathematical link between different things may illuminate a path for future experiments to explore.

For instance - In high school physics we were asked to calculate the wavelength of a tennis ball using de Broglie's equation (determining the wavelength of a given mass moving at a given velocity.




I recall finding it interesting that if Einstein had never postulated E=Mc2, that a mathematician could purely derive the formula from de Broglie's equation. Consider that de Broglie started out in humanities and got his first degree in history.

One good insight in physics could help change the world. I am thankful for all the people who do all the rigorous math, experimentation and theorizing in physics. They are the bedrock of our future.
