Dear GGG...How about delivering the long promised in-game trading surface.

After the 2.0.0.(Awakening) release I found myself in a situation where I had to visit our "hated" and broken trading channels and poe.trade to scour for some gear that would fix my broken builds or just make them less broken.

Poe.trade is brilliant. It has only one flaw though, that you can't actually buy the item there.
You have to be lucky to actually find the seller of the wanted item online. Even then it's not a surefire, because guess what: It happened to me more times that I care to count that poe.trade said the person was online, yet when I checked in game he was offline.
Even if you find the seller online some of them tend not to give a f*** about Whisper requests, PM's etc. Mostly because they're mapping,AFK or just simply being jerks coz they can.

Anyway I hate it. I like self found but there are times when I have to use trading, because there is no other way to acquire certain things.(At least for me).

So when I got the currency I would prefer to be able to purchase that gear right away. No dilly-dally, barter-farter, waiting four hours, eyes bleeding out and mind numbing boredom.

There has to be some way to make this nightmare go away.
My idea: Everybody would get one tab free shop space, if he wants more he/she buys more from the shop. That simple.
Things he puts in the tab(s) are searchable with an in game engine similar to the one that can be found on poe.trade.
Purchases in the shop are instantenous and only "redeemable one time" in case someone made a mistake. (It happens). Or you can simply make an "Are you sure? prompt to pop up evey time someone purchases something. In case there is more people who hit the purchase button for the same item at the exact same time there could be a ping check and the one with the lowest takes the item.
No item swaps or items without buyout allowed. Those who want to trade those will have to use the current system.
If someones tab fills up during trade without more space, he/she would get a notice in game and until he makes more space his trades would stop.

Job done.

I realize that it is asking a lot at once, but you're promising it for a long time now.
Time to actually deliver.

It was once mentioned of a revamped trading system on those pod casts but nothing has ever happened since. I too concur that something should be done to deal with trade cancer as it is now consistently always in global chat because people are frustrated that they can't get the item they need which in turn frustrates the global chatterers from conversing about genitals, drugs, and other redundant entertaining bull tripe, common place, in online games.

I think ggg eventually need to do it if they want to retain people who just want to play a couple of hours a day, however ggg seem to be on the side of no lifing overall and if ur on poe a large part of the day you have a huge advantage in trade.

Thanks for linking the thing quote on said system, something OP should have done.

OP is suggesting adding an AH with completely automated buying and selling, nothing about what Chris said there is suggesting that, if anything its suggesting quite the opposite.

He wants a click to buy and instant get system, that is not something GGG wants to add and have absolutely no place in this genre of game. Works for WoW and other games because they have bound items that prevents the "good items" from being used and replaced, if people would be ok with such a system that once you equip an item it can no longer be tradeable then it is something that technically could work, but really isn't worth the effort of controlling.


That was 1.1.0 which was approx 5 months after the 1.0 release of poe, which has poe.xyz, but not too many features and I'm not sure if procurement was even a thing then, if it was it was a skeleton of a project.

It could be, because that quote is 1.5 years old, that the current system of poe.trade with the resources available to players is even better then what GGG would have added themselves, meaning that statement is not only outdated its invalid.


The only thing the current system truly lacks that some api or 3rd party improvements can't do is some sort of offline 1 off trades that allow for you to mail items, in a limited fashion of course. Everything else our current system can do.

GGG has specifically said they would never do an AH in poe, so don't look forward to things that will never come. It might be time for GGG to make a new dev post regarding trading, but the last one is taken by you all as some sort of bible for 1.5 years, which is quite sad.

It's valid until GGG say it's invalid.
They never said in future updates they have or will stop working on trade optimization like Chris has stated here. It's still in their mind, or maybe they are working on it right now, or maybe they have failed with what they initially tried and start with something else soon... who knows?

Same for "desync" - ... "yes we are working on it" ... never heard anything about it until Awakening was announced... same goes for trade improvements. I trust in GGG, they will deliver... eventually.

API isn't for trade only, therefore it solves much more than just the outsourced auction house. And still... they never cancelled anything.
