Dear GGG...How about delivering the long promised in-game trading surface.
" It does mean they are working on it... eventually. ;) " Probably because some of the people here are children (or lets say young adults)? Have a problem with something I said? PM goetzjam don't derail a thread.

My God people.
You have actually turned my thread into another AH debate. Especially you goetzjam, very "nice" of you indeed. If you read my OP carefully you can almost instantly see the difference between an AH and what I proposed here. On the other hand let me be excused for not necroing Chris' statement from 1,5 years ago. I also didn't write it into my post anywhere that what they promised was an AH or something similar to it. This part of the forum is called Feedback and Suggestions so that's what I did exactly. I suggested something. I suggested that if they plan to deliver a trading system they should consider my tips and suggestions on the mechanics of it. I think everyone except the "nolifer, mega rich crowd, who already has everything they will ever need or wanted" is not sick of the method of "trading" what we have now. I'm sick that I have to repeatedly write into trading chat, mostly in vain if I want to trade some orbs. I'm sick that after finding exactly what I need on poe.trade the person selling it is not online (even if poe.trade says he is). I'm sick of people not answering to traid requests even if they're online and clearly not busy (e.g. not in a map or playing the 4 acts). Unfortunately this is not the case where a petition would help, because this is not a legal issue. My OP was just trying to be a reminder that we still need a better trading system. |

" You are suggesting a system where automatic purchasing of items can be done in one click, doesn't matter that you don't call it an AH, that is literally how AH works in other games. " There ultimately isn't a difference aside from how you word it, which has no effect on the end result. " Which is fine, but you are posting on a public forum, if you want to send a private message to GGG without your idea being ridiculed this isn't the way. https://youtu.be/T9kygXtkh10?t=285

I only ever played one game with an AH, Diablo 3.
The AH in diablo 3 was a necessary "evil" before the loot upgrade. The differences in my suggestion (just for those who still don't get it): 1.In D3 there was only one type of currency: Gold ,and it was plentiful to be found. In PoE there are 21 currencies to date if you count the blacksmith's whetstone, armourer's scrap, glassblower's bauble and scroll of wisdom too. AND I presume I don't have to introduce the drop rates of high end currencies. I sooner accumulate a worth of an exalt from lower orbs than found a pure. Only 3 of the 10 exalts I had was pure. That's sad when you think about it. So you still would only able to buy the gear you have the exact currency items for, except if the seller accepts other orbs too. 2.The Seller would only be able to trade as many items as he/she has space for in the trade TAB. Every player would start out with only 1 tab which would be third of the size of the inventory in length and one row shorter in height. Note that the payment would go to the same TAB, so he/she would have to leave space for that too. In D3 gold was not an item loot so it doesn't occupied space in the regular inventory and in D3 you used your own stash area as a trade stash. 3.Finally my version would be a permanent type. If you place an item it remains there until such time you choose to either remove it or it's sold. (or if you're in a league, until that league ends) In D3 there was a time limit on every auction item. What have you against auto purchase in one click? Isn't that the same thing what happens now if you trade with another player, except the waiting part? Grow up please. The introduction of this trading system would also put an end to people posting items/orbs for trade in global chat. There would still be a trade channel for those who like to barter or discuss the trade before putting the item into their trade TAB. Also if there is interest there could be a filter which would only allow certain people to buy your stuff. For example: You want only your friends/guild to be able to buy your stuff. OR you want to help the "poor" players, although is hard to determine if someone is "poor" or just says he is, so he/she can buy your stuff cheaper to flip it later, because you don't see into his/her stash. I hope that cleared up the "fog" (of war). :) Of course I post it on a public forum. I want everyone to read it. GGG admittedly reads forum posts, so at least one guy from GGG knows about mine. Whether if he shares it with the rest of the staff or ignore it is another thing. Only you alone ridiculed my post goetzjam, if that's what you call it. XD |

" As far as endgame trading goes 1 currency is king, Exalts. Chaos orbs and fuses are next, with the occasional this or that, but most people rather not accept 'gum' in terms of payment. " Ok can they get more trade stash tabs with purchasing an MTX? The limited amount of space you are suggesting punishes players that play more and have more to sell. While people could still use similar methods to selling items in conjunction to the system you are suggesting why bother buying or even searching for items outside of the automated way to purchase an item, even if it does cost slightly more? I'm not entirely sure you understand how the D3 AH worked, either because you didn't play much at the time or just forgot. You didn't use your own stash as a trade stash, immediately upon listing the item it was removed from your inventory. If it didn't sell then it was put into a queue you can recover, essentially increasing the stash space you could have, but items you had listed had 0 effect on your stash space. " Thats because D3's AH was truly that. A lot of people used the auction feature to get items cheaper, whereas the impatient ones would pay more to get the item immediately. Saying a time limit was a bad thing is just funny, its not a bad thing as it ensured people didn't flood the market with unlimited amount of items (although you did somewhat address that with the trade tab thing, not good but at least addressed) " Grow up? Its not the same thing as I and many others have said why 1 click buying with automation isn't good. " You can report people for posting orbs in global chat, it isn't for that. In addition global chat in this type of a game is terrible anyway because its free to play. " No one would do that. It just isn't logical to limit your market to just friends or something like that. Its like would you let a friend borrow $1000, only to return $500 because you "bro dealed him" " Because perhaps everyone else is tired of responding to yet another AH request? Please look at the threads about the topic, I'm not alone on this. https://youtu.be/T9kygXtkh10?t=285

I only said we "used" our own stash tab in D3 because when the item didn't sell and the auction time ended it went back to stash. Obviously it was removed when you put the item up for auction.
MTX would allow for more TABs, obviously. Same as regular stash TABs. People already flooded the market with nearly unlimited items. You can literally buy anything if you have the right currency. This trade surface would ensure that these things would actually found the buyers in an infinitely more convenient manner. How many times people hunted down gear on poe.trade only to find that the seller was not online atm or even if he was, he was busy mapping, AFK or just didn't care. This would enliminate all these inconveniencies. You could spend more time with actually playing the game. I don't consider trading as an entertaining part of playing the game. No one does. The buyer filtering would be item specific and would only apply to items you choose to include and you could apply as many different filters as you want. Bro deals? Every item would have a price. How would he/she or anyone pay less. They can't cut you unless YOU want them to. That's just not possible. This trading surface would be beneficial for solo players, like me also, who grew tired getting cut on currency trades, because you sell faster if you go cheaper. I hate that. I'm not someone who has much time farming currency. So when I get cut it affects me hell of a LOT more than the nolifer crowd. I am aware that there are thousands of AH request, but did they explain how they want to implement it? Some maybe, but the most of it just plainly said: I WANT AH. THA END. Of course when GGG reads yet another AH request they just don't care. They had enough. I think GGG only says no because they fear that if they made an AH or a similar system, these people would somehow able to exploit the game more. They are very radical, I read some post and I can say that their requests may have the same title as mine, but the two couldn't be more different. I just hope GGG would come to a different conclusion before they lose this crowd. A lot of new players who try PoE first time belongs to them. They can remain on somewhat safe waters while the "old" fans still continue to support, but their numbers will inevitably dwindle over the course of the years. If they fail to attract new players to make more "old" fans, eventually only those remain who are faithful to the end no matter what. I fear that those people aren't sufficient enough in numbers yet to being able to "push their cart" so they can continue making more content for the game, and everyone knows that if content stop coming that would bring about the end. I'm not trying to scare anyone with these words or imply that this will happen. I only mean it could. I don't want to see my "current" favourite to end, ever. Not even after ten more years. |

" Your memory is incorrect, it didn't go directly back to your stash when it didn't sell, just like it did get removed right when you listed it. When the item didn't sell it went into a holding on the AH where it wasn't listed and from there you could relist or send it back to your stash, but it didn't have a "stash" cost space to list an item. " Which no matter how you look at it, its unacceptable to allow for people that spend money on tabs to collect more currency, just because they have more stash space to list items for sale. " "flood" The market becomes saturated over time, but its hardly flooded anywhere but standard. As far as the right currency I've addressed why the lack of automation keeps the system in check. For example you won't see my shops sell items for less then 1 chaos, because the time it takes simply isn't worth the effort. Inconveniences also keep the system in check, because even without automation, I'm still not going to be bothered to sell an item for less then 1 chaos, if this is true for me, its likely true for a lot of players. " Entertaining or not to you, its still a very necessary part of the game and one that doesn't need drastic changes just because from your point of view its bad. Let me know when you actually get to endgame and can speak about the game in a complete manner. " If you think it will be a positve change to people like you that are very small and insignificant you are wrong, you still will get subpar currency exchanges. " Thats because they have stated in the past they simply won't do it. They really have no incentive to do it either. " The only difference is some of those people have actually played the endgame and have a number of scenarios they've laid out that have happened to them, you on the other hand lack the experience to even make a post of this magnitude, simply put you are out of your league. " I hate this dumbass excuse, literally you know your argument is shit when you bring up "new players" and GGG needs to get "new players" therefore they must change. Its like saying GGG already got all the money they can from me, therefore it doesn't matter if they go back and do whatever just to appeal to new players, shitty companies do this, not GGG. " Maybe by then you will reach a point in PoE where you have gotten to endgame and can bring something new and interesting to this topic, at least something coming from soneone that is experienced instead of your current position, which is a clear indication of lack of experience, both in game and with the current resources you refuse to use based on incorrect information. Your scare tactic is pitiful and you should be ashamed. https://youtu.be/T9kygXtkh10?t=285

GGG devs aren't magicians who can pull a new trade system out of the hat on command. The must divert development time from other areas to invest it in trading system. Right now simply, their priorities are elsewhere, pushing new content, expansions and leagues.
Maybe GGG said a long time ago about an in-house trading system, but once they looked at the code they realized they had spoke to soon and it would be a much bigger change to implement than they originally imagined. Most people who seem to want both an in-house trade system also seem to want GGG to continue at the same pace of creating new content and leagues and expansions. But I think it is more likely that GGG can only do one or the other if they want to be efficient with their time. "Come along fool, a direct hit to the senses will leave you disconnected."

" They must divert development time from other areas to invest it in *insert any idea here*.... So you think other companies do it not the way you just described? =) huh How do you imagine other companies do it? : - Ok guys, starting tomorrow we will be creating a new game " Path of Exalteds". For 2 years, 9 months and 23 days.... it will be an alpha version and then we release full game. It will have 12647 patches before 3.0 version.... you, Sam, on the 758 day of creating it are not gonna miss that day due to your headache, we will be needing you here making hotfixes for just released patch.... Then one day a forum girl asks the devs to create a brassiere for her magician character cuz naked boobs looks wierd. And the reply is: " What? We have tasks for the next 3 years on schedule, we dont have time this!" Their proirities bla bla bla, I have heard it many times, statred just after I joined the game. Of course they have stuff to do! Just like any other company. Other companies makes patches or release new stuff when player ask for it, didnt you know? But GGG cant eh? If I dont reply to you - I dont give a flying duck about your opinion
If you dont reply to me - I dont care either because I dont come back to see who replied to me |
