Anyone else giving up this game on Nov 10th?
i'm not giving up this game (although playing significantly less) but since the recent closed beta i don't get hyped anymore from whatever they announce.
it always turned out to be underwhelming or having a negative impact somewhere else in the game. also it takes them ages to react on feedback / bugs / gamebraking mechanics / etc. communication with the community is in a VERY bad spot! right now i log in, do some master dailies and log out again. For me, right now, this game is no fun anymore. it's pure frustration. |

" Care to elaborate on this? Chris is quite active on reddit and while that isn't the official forums it is a community forum that he does communicate with what seems like almost daily. https://youtu.be/T9kygXtkh10?t=285

" I may be wrong on this but I think it's not just chris's say but the employees who actually designed the change/idea. I don't think we can realistically expect chris to do all that he has to and act as the go between on feedback and making sure the employees actually making the changes integrate the feedback. Could be totally off base though. The official forums does need more responses with serious issues though. They seem to tiptoe around it unless it's in a manifesto where they basically tell us why we're wrong or why whatever can't be addressed soon. |

chris posts on reddit often are (very) short answers to questions.
i'd hardly call that a discussion. so ok, you are right. i wrote "communication". may bad. what i meant was there is no communication on what they have in mind, why they make changes to something obviously (for us) not broken. elaborate with some numbers. convince us that the change they are going to make (major ones at least) is for the better of the game. then let people discuss about it. most posts will be "whiteknights vs. people who don't seem to get whats going on" but there are always some very valuable, thought-through posts. the closed beta forum would be a prime example of "bad communication". sadly it's not accessible anymore. |

I want to give up PoE for a while but it probably won't happen completely.
My laptop that I got as a gift for graduation is crap now because of FO4's requirements being a 64 bit. Even my girlfriend's desktop which she offered to let me play on for FO4 can only meet minimum requirements. I'm normally not a 'graphics mean everything' gamer but with Fallout I make an exception. I'll be playing on minimum until I'm out of college and have a decent job... and crying. Alot. I WANT BEAUTIFUL IMMERSION DAMNIT! :'( "It's all clearer now And I hear her now And I'm nearer to The Salvation Code" Last edited by PleiadesBlackstar#6327 on Oct 26, 2015, 11:11:52 AM

" What issues do you think need to be addressed, I see mainly the same stuff posted over and over again on the feedback forums, those issues typically have had responses in previous Q\A. " Seeing how much easier it is to respond to a strait forward question, shouldn't this be the most common response? " What you are wanting to know is design things, they don't share future design things before the dates they feel comfortable with. The 5 week event has had its design\foundation\information posted, that is exactly what you are requesting, right? What numbers are you looking for? % based activity, certain unqiues farmed? Other info-graphics? They don't and never had tried to convince the changes are for the better of the game, this isn't some kickstarter game or game where you are invested into it and share in the development. They make the design of the game, balance changes, you are free to give feedback on what you do or don't like about something, but ultimately they make the game and you choose to play it or not. I understand this is different then some devs, but it works for PoE. Its always typically whiteknights vs people that don't understand with a few actual good post from each side, the problem is GGG changes after the fact, not before the fact so saying you dislike something or they should convince you before you try it is not that great. The devs do read feedback forums, replying to ever single thread is just a waste of resources. Perhaps a system could be put in place that marks a thread once its been read by a dev automatically so people understand or know that their feedback has been "successfully" received. https://youtu.be/T9kygXtkh10?t=285

" I sincerely hope this isn't a sentiment shared by the devs. |

" They seem to make a dev post regarding large issues, like map drop changes, divination card changes, league changes and stuff like that. I guess I just fail to see any reason why GGG needs to be involved with every single trade thread suggestion, xp loss thread, drop rate thread, ect. Many of those things have been answered previously or they truly don't have an update they are willing to share on the topic. Do you have specific issues you feel like GGG isn't addressing. That was my main point of that, if you do what are they and why do you think they haven't been addressed? https://youtu.be/T9kygXtkh10?t=285

They don't need to respond to every thread. Maybe they just need to sticky the main or the most frequent topics of feedback/suggestions and keep them up to date with the most current dev response, like skill gem feedback.

" Large sticky threads don't actually do much good IMO though. Most people won't read even the first page of responses before replying to a thread to give their input. Ideally a system could be put in place that finds similar topics and directs you to those topics before you can post, for example if there is an XP thread that has had a more recent post instead of having 3-4 threads in the first couple of pages it would only be one. Maybe the same system could find dev related responses to these topics before the feedback can be posted, so people know where they stood XX time ago. This however is no easy task to implement and the website is already years behind in terms of progress IMO. Even a site like Grim Dawn has actual useful information on it. The larger issue IMO is why sticky all of these various "issues" if they don't think they require any action or changes? Like do we really need to have an ongoing thread about "new" trade ideas that are nothing but a rehash from another game every single week, in addition sticky threads encourage users to post on topics they wouldn't otherwise post in due to the fact its always there. https://youtu.be/T9kygXtkh10?t=285
