Yes, the difference between manual trading and fully automated AH is that big. It changes the game completely.

Nope. Not just RMAH. If it was just RMAH they would have kept the gold one. But it was both of them.

I've played it for a while. Never cared about RMAH at all, never even used it. Just the gold one for gear upgrades. Ended up with 100% of my items obtained via AH instead of playing the game. Which changed from APRG to a game of last second bidding with the help of stopwatches. You set up a 1 minute stopwatch on your phone and spam-refresh the AH until it changes from 2 minutes to 1 minute left on the bid, and hit the button. And then the "FUN" begins. Whoever manages to enter the last bid at the very last second wins. Then flip it for more gold and use the gold to grab BiS items for your chars at the last second. Etc etc etc. I became a total expert in that. But when there was no way to upgrade anymore, it dawned on me that I wasn't playing the game I wanted to play all that time. Said 'fuck this', logged off and never came back.

I hear Blizzard has seen the light eventually, but I have zero desire to come back to D3. Automated AH will do it to PoE too.
