Similar to FF7 skills/spells?

I LOVE the idea of leveling up all the various skills. If you remember, FF7 had a similar setup. I think a neat idea would possibly be a way to duplicate the gems or maybe upon highest level of one gem it creates a new gem of the next tier? Just an idea, throwing it out there.

This system will be amazing, I always wanted to connect more support materia to action materia at once :)
