At the time of posting this thread, and my post, revenants weren't nerfed.

GGG nerfed them literally for being over the top and doing mass extinction of exiles, they received a 30% damage decrease and projectiles were nerfed from 5 to 3 per barrage.

Also i do not know where do you get this idea monster damage doesn't scale up with map level.


30% damage reduction is substantial, but people still complain when they prolly just got low light resists. Theyre hard, just not that hard. And monsters
Shouldnt shotgun either, so extra projectiles shouldnt hurt more. Maybe bugged?

And as for your other question:
Take a monster type, white with no map damage mods on map
Encounter same monster on 70 and 80 map with same character defenses, make sure same amount of endu charges on
And fortify on or off in both tests
Record average hit of said monster

If there is any map scaling in base damage, its very veeeery minimal from one map level to the next.
Take into account extra phys auras and various forms of extra damage multiplier mods on maps and rares, its enough.
Revenant projectiles do not count as from one instance, as such if you would have gotten hit by 5 projectiles you would in fact get hit for 5x the damage.

It's the same reason Vaal Spark can hit a target with more than 1 actual spark, the projectiles launch at intervals.

So compared to current revenants old revenants were doing 138% more damage if you got hit by all projectiles than they are doing now if you get hit by all 3.

Example:

Before:
100 x 5 = 500

Now:
70 x 3 = 210

500 / 210 = 2.38, or 138% more than now.

So yeah, they aren't so scary now but they sure were before the nerf, which is what my post was referring to.
