He will be lost, confused and lonely. Unless he has wealthy parents supporting him or was left a vast inheritance, he will be on the street, visiting soup kitchens twice a day and waiting in line at the shelter each night.
Never seeing the sunlight is not healthy human behavior. Heroin doesn't make heroin addicts 'happy'. The artificial happiness they get from shooting up comes from the fact that their withdrawal symptoms will be dissipated for a few hours. They don't do it because it makes them happy. They do it because they need it. People like Etup need PoE or games like it because they don't know how to function without dedicating their life to a game. If video games suddenly ceased to exist, do you think he would simply go about his life? There would be severe depression, a complete loss of identity, and most likely suicidal thoughts.
You're also missing the point Brights was making about curing cancer. You could not cure cancer in the 5 minutes it took you to write that post. Etup, however, has spent at least 10,000 hours playing PoE; probably a hell of a lot more than that. That sort of dedication and time investment has great potential in the world. Unfortunately when that amount of time is spent playing a game, it does no good for anybody, most of all the player. All he is doing is lessening his potential as a human being - his entire existence consists of sitting in a dark room staring at a screen.
Dont know much about Etup's life to say anything about him but from this post I can tell your mind is very...unhealthy,

ECCLESIASTES 8:15
So I command the enjoyment of life, because nothing is better for a man under the sun than to eat and drink and be glad. Then joy will accompany him in his work all the days of the life God has given him under the sun.
They didn't have computer games and competitive sports at the time this was written, but I assume he would mention to enjoy those as well.
The whole Ecclesiastes book is about everything being meaningless and recommends to enjoy your life while you can, because time on Earth is short. (Coming from possibly the wisest man of his time, who traveled the world to find wisdom).
So let Etup enjoy his game and stop discussing the point of his life.
None of you are doing anything meaningful in your lives anyways, even those who are trying to cure cancer.
Or correct me if you know the point of life.

Perhaps someone could create a guide for people who sit in a chair 16hrs a day to stay healthy.
:D
they should do what healthy people do, get a job, sit on a bus seat for half an hour, then sit at a desk doing something pointless and boring all day, sit on a bus chair half an hour back to their house and then sit in front of the tv all evening and end up falling sleep while trying to stay awake through a late night episode of the office theyve already seen twice. You know, normal healthy things normal people do.
Honestly, those guys on the front page "omg he should be curing cancer not playing video games omg"... seriously? I guess theres a lot of people in here curing cancer and doing something worthwhile with their lives right? Youre all super heros or something and everyone wishes their life had real meaning like yours does? You absolutely dont have meaningless jobs as some cog on the wheel of a middle man between middle men doing some sort of capitalist nonsense that does nothing for the human race but destroy natural resources of the planet by feeding needless consumerism right? Thats totally not you guys, youre all like bono running around out there saving the world in rockstar sunglasses.
ever noticed the way insecure people always default to trying to find a reason to dislike well known people or put down what they do?

it's not so hard imagining two or more guys are levelling the same char 24/7, ain't it?
well it gets a bit harder when theres 1 guy on a stream every day actually playing the character live for everyone to see.
I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

Many facepalms happened while reading this post.
Congratz i suppose. Stacking this many assumptions after one another has to be some kind of gift.
I got another version of this story
In the future he might be working a normal job, bored the fuck out of his mind, fondly remembering his days as a PoE successful streamer wondering what the fuck he is doing now.
Or another one
In the future he is picked up by some gaming company to alpha test content since clearly he has dedication when it comes to gaming, he's still streaming and doing what he loves best.
I could go on, but everything you just typed has as much value as what i just typed.
Ill give you a hint : none.
Peace,
-Boem-
edit : and to be clear, i didn't miss any point, i was poking fun at it while making a point, which clearly went over your head eh.

Some people in this thread need to chill out.
People aren't hating on eTup - they're just saying that it's unhealthy. That varying his schedule would be better for him, especially in the long run.
That's like if your mom tells you that you should drink less soda. Is she hating on you? Nope.
That's like if your teacher tells you not to forget to do your homework. Is he hating on you? Nope.
People these days... they can't handle any kind of criticism. Whenever they're told that they aren't perfect they go apeshit. Whenever someone gives advice to someone else it's perceived at "hating" and "negativism".
Chill out.
