Stack armor and resist are worthless

Oh, i can't decide guise...

there's some faulty logic behind OPs post.

at lvl 40 with 600 armor you can get hit 6 times
later on when you progress in the games and acts and difficulty lvl you obviously need more to sustain 6 hits, from mobs that are obviously more powerful than the ones on 40.
so it's perfectly logical to need more armor on more powerful mobs.

if you go back to the mobs that you are talking about, the ones from lvl 40, you will be able to take much more hits with twice the armor.

or maybe i'm the one with faulty logic

Conclusion: stack life only in your passive, every armor and resist nodes you put on just make you weaker and weaker.

I currently have 1.1 k armor and and 60 % phys dmg reduce and about 20 % evade chance with about 610 hp. at lvl 31 duelist and i am not having any issues at all, Just make sure to stack the right kind of resist when needed :-) And increased armour/ES/ER modifier on items can be a blessing ! ;-)
On a side note i do have a duelist tank build though and putted most points in defensive stuff

Secondly, facing 20 mobs and killed by them with 5~6 hits each? you must be kidding. I saw a group more than 6 I SHIT MY PANTS!! 3~4 mobs hit me 2 times each Im in town again faster portal.

I tried with 600 and 1400 armor, go in dungeon and the result is almost the same, I only think of Enduring Cry would change this situation because you only have to go in -> cry and gain charges -> gain tons amount of %dmg reduction, but for armor? you stack passive/farm items/Determination aura/Molten Shell, the amount of %dmg reduction is laughable.

Thirdly, for the resist part, again you are kidding me, 80% resist? you think everyone is marauder/point passive to marauder tree, to get that Elemental Adaptation? or you think everyone has perfect loot? I try so hard to get all resist to 76% and you know what? 2 skeleton mages cast fireball on me, and I have half hp left.

Thanks for all the replies again, I will try to repesc my toon, only focus on life and energy shield just for survival, luckily i havnt spend any respec points before.

Best of luck my friend!Capping res at 75% makes a load of difference, you'd be surprised at the additional survival you end up with. keep in mind the difference inbetween taking 50% damage and 25% damage is a lot. You're taking twice as much damage as some of us currently are.

Armor is useless and needs to be altered.
Resists are definitely not useless, Armor is (unless your build revolves around endurance charges)
