That very same video was the reason I started playing. Killing those squids with a ground slamming mace was so slow and snoozy and gave no indication about how fast and hectic the gameplay is in the endgame.

Coming from a D3 barb Kripp must have been all for melee back then :)

well he is kind of in "new player mode", because he didn't play Path Of Exile for a long time and isn't up-to-date with changes and mechanics.

but that's not why I think Kripp is bad for PoE.
his attitude towards the game, is why I think he's bad for PoE.
and the people who started playing thanks to his Closed/Open Beta videos, will have to excuse me on this one - but I don't like the "current version" of him.
can you even begin to compare his "meh Act 4" attitude, to how Moldran approached Path Of Exile? to Ziggy/Lifting's enthusiasm and Ghudda's sheer craziness about the game? would he ever truly no-life it like Anuhart does?

of course not.
because currently, Kripp doesn't give a rat's ass about Path Of Exile.
and as such, he is going to give nothing but bad advertisement. which is pretty much the opposite of what you'd like a Streamer to do to your game, if your name is Chris Wilson.

Kripp will always remain iconic regardless of how little he's going to play now. He has own subculture. Even if he acts like he's not excited, he's just being honest, and I think it's interesting to watch how someone with such extreme experience level responds to the game as it evolves.
