Stuck on loading screen while getting into the third instance / I loose config changes
I'm on a laptop indeed, and almost sure PoE recognizes my graphic card as show here :
http://imgur.com/L4GQzoB Sorry for the lack of URL banner, I did not know this was needed~ As I said in the first message, I updated my drivers pretty recently, actually just after having first signs of the game not loading, as I thought this might solve the issue =) My computer isn't overheating, it goes up to 73°C when playing PoE according to an utility called CPU Thermometer I guess the issue would be the graphic card though. As I mentionned earlier too, the music of the zone gets loaded so I assume the instance opens and the data is indeed loaded. Then my computer just doesn't want to display it for whatever reason. Hope next patch fixes this, it would be horrible not being able to play the Awakening until getting back to my country and grabbing a new computer. 73C for a CPU is actually really hot/overheating.
Check the specs on your CPU, but it likely has a Tcase temp under 75C. You should actually use something like HWMonitor which can show the temps for all components which have temp sensors. Although overheating may no be THE issue, it certainly seems like it can be part of the issue. |

Here, have a whole screen of what I get with HMWare (almost). My computer is usually around this temperature nowadays and it's still working pretty good with most games. I thought my problem might be the ISP too as I may not recieve the data for some instances. So I tried to connect through a VPN, alas without success. Tried other gateways and leagues / characters before this, same issue~ Got litteraly a loading screen running for 3 hours last night, without disconnection or eventually getting into the zone. I'm running my PackCheck.exe right now but it shouldn't find anything as I have reinstalled the game several times, right ? Edit : Yup "all files are in synch" Edit 2 : I manage to load a lot of zones (just loaded an Old Fields). The problem being maps and master missions... Have you blown the dust out of that recently, or have you tried using a cooling pad or elevated the laptop off the desk?
Those temps are really high. Again, I'm not saying that is THE issue, but it's certainly not good. Are there any events in your Windows Event/Error logs related to PoE or your video card/drivers at around the time you're having issues? |

As I said already, there was an instance were I had an error changing the graphic parameters (not the same issue thus), but I forgot to take a screenshot, and it never happened again.
Btw, if that could help, whenever I quit or kill the game, the options (graphics, controls, etc.) go back to the default paramters. Another issue / symptom thus. I forgot to bring my cooling pad to Canada with me... Guess I should elevate it myself with something~ I should also try loading the game from another network tomorrow as I'm not 100% sure the VPN was working just before (was borrowing a friend's, and I already had problems with it in the past). |

I understand what you said about the error, but I want you to go into the event viewer and look for specific errors.
It's built into Windows and can sometimes contain very useful information. |

Hello,
this could get a little longer but bear with me please. I am experiencing the same issue as both Jonath and Bisquit described in first two posts. And it indeed started happening after 4th of July. The game loads up just fine for all characters. As far as I go from any city to any location, it all works. However when I exit this first location the game gets stuck on the loading screen. Sound loads up as you can hear noises from the new would-be-loaded location, but nothing more. And after a while PoE gets non responsive in task manager and you have to kill it via process. I have tried both steam and stand-alone versions and it happens to both. I play PoE on two computers and only one is affected by this problem. Home computer with win8 and office computer (refrain from commenting please :) ) with win7. Both are good enough to run PoE on medium details without dropping under 40 fps. The main difference between the two is however not the system but the fact that office computer uses network drives for folders under "And PoE saves its config files under "where on the office computer it is actually saved under " PoE has some kind telling that this happens and creates randomly named folders under the game install folder. For me its here: "and as I have not created the "P" folder (and several others one-character named folders) it has to create them itself. I have already tried several more ideas - changing the "my games" path in the registry; using config folder from my other computer; creating another profile - but none of them helped. Could anyone please confirm if the changed documents path is also their case? I have also found a very similar issue here: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/24466/page/1 As for the overheating mentioned - I cannot speak for Jonath but it almost certainly is not the issue or even part of it. Because it surely would have happened even while in game, not only while loading a new zone. I really would love this issue to be resolved but this is just steering it away :( |

Eh, on my side the files look like this.
http://imgur.com/Lpxtose Haven't been able to try the game on another network today, maybe tomorrow but if what you said is right then it should work. Edit : I'm using japanese local to play a bunch of other games, thus the funny names I guess. I shall try to change my region settings to USA or something more common~ Edit 2 : Dude, untick the "save login details" box, and you won't get the random folder. Still, whatever second map (not counting the town) I load and it freezes Last edited by Jonath#2543 on Jul 9, 2015, 10:57:56 PM

The problem of loading was solved by the last patch.
But I still loose my configuration every single time I relaunch the client~ |

I can confirm this issue to be fixed since the release of The Awakening. Everything loads fine and the config changes are saved properly on office network.
Thanks for the fix, GGG. I however don't get Jonath's edit2: " - is this note adressed to me? I am not sure, as is does not make much sense to me. |
