Would PoE be great on Next Gen Console?
" Check d3 on consoles, it's way better than on pc. They really did a great job as faar as control setups, performance etc. But they miserably failed with not allowing ladders etc, beacuse of bugged items from ps3/xb360. Wich is just a slacker move and nothing else. OT: I believe this game would rock on next gen consoles, you can lay back in your sofa doing some farming, then handle your trades on the pc for smoothness :) I vote YES! :) |

" That's because Blizzard did the development from the ground up with consideration of porting it to a console. That makes a HUGE difference in terms of how well a port comes out. (Blizzard is rather famous for knowing what they're going to be doing even years in advance) A good example of a major RPG series demonstrating this would be The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind was available on both the PC and Xbox... And to be honest, it was pretty terrible on the latter; it suffered massive performance issues, bugs, and the interface was awkward and painful to use, all issues that were nonexistent on the PC version. This came about because it was made as a PC game, and porting it to the Xbox was an afterthought. The next following games, Oblivion and Skyrim, both handle rather excellently on the Xbox 360 & PS3, because both games were built from the ground up to be able to work great on a console. As I'd already mentioned, some of the spells in PoE are OUTRIGHT IMPOSSIBLE for a console game. Gameplay ITSELF would have to be fundamentally different: limitations of hardware and input drive decisions beyond just the interface and graphics themselves. @ ACGIFT
I understand your reasoning. So, this brings up the next question. Does POE need to be reworked? When microsoft puts windows10 on all ms products and with the new xbox having 1t storage, can GGG afford to ignore a cross platform scenario? lol, may have just answered my own question. If xbox has win10 on it you should be able to use a mouse and keyboard. Just food for thought. |

Never. No ARPG should ever be played on console

" Just because MS adds Win10 to the xbox does not mean that I'm gonna run out and get one. I have several playstations, mostly used by my kid, while I prefer to play on the computah myself. Better seating, better controls, certainly easier to read the text on the screen. Oh, and I will probably keep the Win7 until it craps out on me, I only use it for gaming anyways these days. So what I am trying to say, is that the PC market will not just disappear because of xbox... The plan is simple: win! If you do not win, you did not follow the plan

" Computer D3 was heavily dumbed down for consoles, if you can imagine it (stats are HARD, replaced it with green and red up/down arrows who cares about numbermath). Last edited by Asmosis#7365 on Jul 9, 2015, 10:05:53 AM

Yes, PoE would look great on a PlayStation 2. The upscaled graphics from this transition would be amazing.
Wait, this is not 1999 ? Arbitrary placeholder decisions should never be embraced as final. Last edited by MegaDeth666#7419 on Jul 9, 2015, 7:59:01 PM

No. I play computer games on computers only and therefore am completely superior to all the doctors, scientists, engineers, etc that come home from a hard day of making a difference in the world to play a game of Halo. What a bunch of dummies.
