Didn't Chris say that they wouldn't introduce new higher tier item mods?
|
I'm pretty sure he said so in more than one occasion in the past, correct me if I'm wrong.
This means 2 things: 1. Chris's words mean nothing 2. Even if chris didn't say that, what kind of company has GGG become? Sh*tting on all of their veteran players who invested so much of their time and effort to aquire BiS items only to find them no longer so. And it's not even a change that was needed. People trivialized uber atziri which is the hardest content in the game with gear far less good than the current BiS and yet they introduce even higher tier mods and de-evaluate people's efforts. Also, this will primarily effect the standard league and hardly at all the temporary league which makes it seem simply like a move designed to hurt those who invested everything to aquire the best. If they go through with this change I'm out for good, and I realize that the majority of the players aren't the type who are wealthy enough ingame to be hurt by this and so they either couldn't care less or are happy to see the wealthy players get shat on because it makes them feel better about themselves, But those who are honest with themselves will know I'm right. So that's it, I've only written this post to get it off my chest. Good day. Last edited by GnGEmpire#0632 on Jun 16, 2015, 2:24:39 AM

The truly succesful economic players will be those who had anticipated this possibility and saved/hoarded enough currency to ensure that they will be able to lead the curve on the new item creation.
If you are one of those who is complaining about the changes, then you are not one of the above. This means you are not one of the "big" players in the economy, and your opinion and threats are probably a little baseless. Sure, its a pain in the ass, but it is a pretty damn poor business owner/manufacturer that doesn't plan for potential changes in the market structure. Alternatively, you could set up a group that can protect your interests - maybe take GGG to court for making the changes, or sue players for creating/selling the new mirrored items? You could call them the Remove Item Affixes Assoication (RIAA) or maybe the Must Protect Affixes Association (MPAA). Anyone else got any suggestions? == Officially Retired 27/02/2019 ==
Massive thanks to GGG for producing such a fun and engaging game, it has taken up faaaaaaar too much of my life over the last 5 years. Best of luck in the future! |

They could slap them with a Don't Make Changes to Affixes (DMCA) takedown notice, or lobby for Government to enact Stop Overwriting Perfect Affixes (SOPA) legislation.

Actually Chris did say it during that Q n A session. I was even the one who raised the question. (Felt proud that he bothered with my question)
However this is how I interpreted it, the new rolls will exist in a way that trades off other mods. Say an armor with a higher armor roll but lower hp roll. It sounded like that to me. Which is why I am laughing at all the people selling away Loath Bane for discounted prices right now. |

I heard him saying it in podcast Q & A

If there is a change that would screw up standard but make the temp league experience better GGG will make that change. This has been clear since the first batch of legacy items. To do otherwise would be absurd, you really think they'd hold something back just because of the effect on standard? The game would die. Every single change and addition is likely screwing over some standard player somewhere. Some obscure build or economic niche they've found. The temp leagues are top priority and likely always will be.

" Can I have all your stuff? I mean I know it's all just junky t2 stuff now and it's gonna be slightly harder to faceroll stuff but I will suffer through it. " Just so I'm clear on this, your main issue isn't that your gear is still pretty good but no longer "best" the real issue is you can't run around playing the economy anymore? I guess I can be honest and say I feel sorry for the people that only look at this game as a trade based game, but I've pretty much always felt they are missing out on the main fun of the game. Sorry the game won't be fun for a small minority of the players, but I think you all expected this at some point. Last edited by OldmanBlackdragon#4644 on Jun 16, 2015, 9:22:25 AM

The question for me is: why are race rewards item level 100 and not item level 78? If you ever asked yourself this question, you would know that higher tier mods were always a possibility.

Two year old quote from Trav_Dawg. But it's eloquent and falls in line with how I feel on the upcomming tier changes if any.
