Physical damage bonus on weapons too important
In my opinion, if it takes more than three hits to kill an average trash mob, something is very very wrong. It's one thing for mini-bosses to take a ton of hits, but when everything does, your character starts feeling pathetic and simply stops being fun to play.
My first impressions on a melee class did leave me feeling like melee damage was underwhelming, and after revisiting everything and taking a closer look I paid much closer attention to every trick I could find to improve my dps. I haven't been in the beta for long, so I'm still figuring out the tricks. I have noticed a disturbing frequency of trash mobs that require a LOT more than three hits to kill. This is bad I think. Ideally, I think both melee characters and spell casters should be looking at both passive skills and items. Good items shouldn't just be important for melee classes. Spell casters should need them too. With suitable passive traits and item modifiers, it should be possible to one hit trash mobs. Without them, It should be unusual for level appropriate trash mobs to require more than three hits to kill. That's just my opinion. ----------------------------
