I've played PoE since CBT 2911 and I totally agree and support the OP. GGG's has started a descent on a very slippery slope, they have started to go against their own words of never having to pay to play PoE (Awakening CBT supporter packs anyone?). Not to mention the addition of full respec option on the garena servers...

" Okay as a Singaporean, i think some context about the whole Garena situation would be good. Garena's main target audience is the South-East Asian market. Back in early 2013 at least, before GGG agreed to deal with Garena, PoE had (and still has) a Singapore server. It is available in the server options at the login screen. When GGG agreed to deal with Garena, the option was mysteriously removed, even though the Singapore server still exists. So of course you can see the Singapore option if you play on garena, but everyone else on the main servers have to manually type in the Singapore server today to access it. I think its obvious that any non-garena gamer from South-East Asia, if they know a Singapore server is available, will automatically choose it for the best latency. I know of at least a few South-East Asian Exiles who mistakenly chose to play over at Garena, thinking its the only South-East Asian server available. GGG also removed the Singapore server from the download page, with a huge pop-up stating: "IT SEEMS LIKE YOU'RE FROM SINGAPORE! YOU SHOULD PLAY AT GARENA! (this is not a requirement)" I dont have the exact quote but it goes something like that. What you need to know though, is that compared to the main servers, there are VERY LITTLE EXILES AT GARENA. In my 20 to 30 hours of gameplay there, i hardly even found one party. And the global chat is just dead. Its like shouting to the wall. I know we Asians tend to be a bit less chatty, but thats not what im talking about. Most of the SE Asian Exiles i know play in the main servers, simply for the community. To make matters worse, you cannot transfer your garena characters to the main servers. Many standard league garena players choose to remain there simply becos they have spent hundreds or thousands of hours into their characters already. Feel free to draw your own conclusions though, i have already stated mine :) |

" I support and have supported GGG in the past because I like the game. I did not join up and put my paltry amount of money into GGG's coffers b/c it is f2p. I do not give a crap about 'power creep' 'market domination' or any of the other BS catch phrases that players love to toss around. If GGG decides to change their business model, I will make my choice at that point. After 7 years of WoW - I don't think I am offended by the pay-to-play model. ~ Please separate the PoE1 and PoE2 forums.

They're increasing the maximum level of monsters, so power has to creep. Don't tell me you want to fight lvl80, then lvl90 monsters with the same weapons when monster damage and life scale so hard towards the end of the game.
