Witch - Fire, sucks.

I might suggest that you two change the tenor of your conversations to something that adds value to the thread.

If fire was as amazing as a few people in this thread keep insisting, it would be played more commonly.

It's wrong and true in the same time.

It's wrong because Fire is very good (i basically two shoted everything from lvl 13 (searing touch) to act 3 merciless. It's true, because:
-You need a searing touch in each fire build (and everybody can't afford a 4-5-6L searing touch). Searing touch is just the best fire weapon in the game, from lvl 13 to lvl 100, by far.
-You will be way more squishy (because you have a staff and not a wand + shield, and because you need critical)
-People often fall in the chance-to-ignite noob trap. This support is absoluty crap.

Fire is amazing, but people try it without the good build'n'stuff, and without it, it indeed sucks.

But if you just buff fire, my build (for example) will be incredibly insane.

You do know that armors can also have 6 sockets, right...? Feel free to put your Searing Touch gem in your armor and go back to using a wand+shield. Unless of course you want to boost 2 skills with 5 support gems, in which case you'll need a 2H weapon along with the armor, like everyone else.

Searing Touch is a unique staff...
If you're reading this, I'm probably on another year-long ban.
Thanks GGG.

The +2 lvl on fire gem is, basically, a + 32% more damage with a lvl 16 fireball.

The +70% ignite damage is, when specced correctly, a +38% more burning damage. It has also very decent spell damages (80-90%).

It means if you crit with a fireball (and i have 35% crit chance) you are doing X *1,32 damage on the crit, and X*1,32*1,38= 1,82X on the burn.

I guess you don't have a wand + shield who give you 82% MORE damage on burn?

Even if you have a lvl 20 fireball gem, the burn damage is enough for outdps a perfect wand + perfect shield.

Edit: Oh, he missed the fact Searing touch was a Unique staff :/ My bad, useless post, then.

Honestly if all the people here complain don't like playing a fire witch why insist on playing one? surely it cant just be to come here and complain.

for the person who asked: if fire is so good then why dont more people play it? - fire summoner is one of the most popular builds only surpassed by lightning as-far as i am aware. keyword = popular not highest dmg

I play solely in HC so my views might be biased with dmg and survival - however buffing fire to "make its DMG more viable vs other elemental specs" (full dmg builds). will simply make Summoner fire OP. so one would assume buffing one will break the other...

I am already considering dumping half or more of my survival nodes and going for more dmg, simply because since level 50ish nothing touches me, however i will wait until end game before i make the decision to switch...

with that 2 hit 2 crit vaal vid tho, its got me thinking - how in the world do u not die to reflect especially when u get a reflect + allies cannot die group.

At the end of the day there is how many talents in the passive tree? there are how many classes? there are how many different ways to create a totally unique character? why would you get hooked up on a class you do not enjoy? please go re-roll find a class with a spec you enjoy and stop putting my preferred play style at risk of being broken

Time spent playing does not reserve the right to demand class changes just so u skip on a re-roll to a more suited class for your play style.

I use ruby each time i have a reflect. And my dps come from burning, which is not reflected. But i agree, allies cannot die + reflect is a pain.
Well if fire builds completely rely on searing touch, then the element still needs work and is pretty shitty (in general)

Elemental spells shouldn't require a unique to work in general (mainly because that can apply to other things in general, like if a shock version of searing though was introduced or something like that
