Witch - Fire, sucks.
Fire sucks. Terrible. I have almost every point into fire/elemental damage so far and I still do worse damage than lightning/cold.
I have no real defensive abilities as fire, and I still do terrible damage. Not to mention we have like... 2 spells? LOL. Either totems / lightning / ice is op or fire is underpowered. Also, you need to nerf Greater Projectiles or make single target damage higher. Because your "single" target damage is even way higher when you're kind of close to a mob with Greater Projectiles. Almost everyone uses Greater Projectiles, its stupid. Totems = effortless, easy to use, extremely fast (so they dont miss) and they pull aggro off the caster. Why would anyone not want to spec into totems? Oh, and I have pretty damn good items for my level like 70% spell dmg wand almost 100 percent crit chance on it for spells etc, spell damage gloves, shield, blahblah... ANNDDDD... I couldn't even kill a regenerating mob chain casting fireball because it out regenerated me. WTF! Its health literally didnt move. Thats including a -45% fire debuff and chain casting fireball with crit chance/crit damage/ chance to ignite/faster casting... So uh, my suggestion is make fire damage better than cold and lightning. Cold has a lot of defensive benefits to it, fire does not. Lightning I view as more of an area effect tree, but should not do as much damage as single target fire. It'd be nice to have a bit more variety of spells too. And the speed of Fireball SUCKS. its SO bad. I run almost as fast as my fireball (and yes I know theres projectile speed increase, but I basically miss 50% of my shots if a mob is moving.. or more?? This thread has been automatically archived. welcome to beta! game is still being balanced, dev's have specially mentioned that more fire skills need to be implemented - and they will be - and also that fire damage is not on par with other types.
I was thinking of having my unique be a "converts all cold to fire" item as a stop-gap method until more skills are put in, but I am not sure. "the premier Action RPG for hardcore gamers."

fire trap /molten shell / flame totem / fireball / firestorm / righteous fire
k... now to NOT include the bow / melee fire skills... k... now 3 shots of whiskey k... now 3 more k... looks at screen k... yep! I see only 2 need some more fire skills/spells that use spell damage/fire damage/elemental damage and burning damage! Get on it... lol |

" yes there is a gem, but I believe it is a % of cold to fire and you'd need a gem for each skill. my idea was global - all cold damage to fire. "the premier Action RPG for hardcore gamers."

" Ah yes, Righteous Fire... I think I wanna burn for 100% of my life per second as fire damage as a Witch. Seems really viable. Flame Totem? I'm not specced into totems. And if you arent specced into totems, totems are garbage. Fire Trap? What am I a rogue? Am I going to constantly trap people in order to be able to kill things? Stupid. Molten Shield? So now you want me to go in and tank with my 0 armor? I'm sure that will go well dude. I'm pretty sure these spells were designed for 1) a Templar maybe, 2) someone who is actually specced into totems and 3) ????? no idea. Theyre trash spells. Not even interesting if you ask me. I'd restart completely with fire if I were the designers, those are not cool spells. |

Oh and Firestorm sucks too because Fireballs hit 1 small area at a time, so sometimes you cast the area effect on stuff and it misses completely, on a regular basis... dumb...

I've been playing for 7 month sir. fire trap is insanely powerful and no you don't need to be a rogue / whatever... it's best suited for casters. i won't go through the list, but let me say that you need a little more than 2 weeks of playing the game to have tried everything and the ability to understand everything.
as the moderator said, more skills are on their way... but fire isn't "lacking" at all.. if the problem is a lack of spells it is lightning, which they recently added arc for and more will come for that too... i'm a little tired today so forgive me...but the QQing from players who are "so" new and haven't taken the necessary time to L2P is starting to get to me (this isn't directed solely at you).... i'm taking a break. What can I say... i looked at a fire caster option. Made a build. it turned out very much a fire-melee build. So i made a fire templar and what can i say. he kicks ass.
Yes, fire witch isn't very viable unless you go into he templar tree.... but then not all builds should be equally viable. |
