What caused the cataclysm?

Lady Dialla - she wouldn't sacrifice herself for Malachi, he begged her for the Empire, for everyone, but she chose herself and stays protected forever in her temple with her Ribbons.

There were two Cataclysms:
• At the time of Vaal, Queen Atziri (sp?) wanted eternal youth, so her master thaumaturge sacrificed a lot of people for a communing ritual that would either kill everyone or make everyone immortal. The result was the former - the Darkness was released in the world, and day became as night. Much later, the Darkness was imprisioned, until our characters release it. • At the end of the Purity Rebellion, Emperor Vol took Malachai and Lady Dialla to the birthplace of the gems, with the goal of destroying thaumaturgy. Something went wrong then, and the Catacysm happened. We still don't know the details, though. |
