SKILL TO MAKE 2 HANDED SWORDS 1 HANDED
I may have posted this in the wrong section...
I have been wondering about this for a while and I think it would make a cool addition and dynamic in the game...A keystone or skill that allows players to wield 2 handed swords with one hand allowing them to carry a shield as well. Yes I know some thought would have to go into balancing these sort of characters but I think it would be really cool and add a new style of play. Of course there would need to be strength pre-requisite which would aid in balancing the character as well as a penalty for activating this skill. eg. limiting the type of shield or removing high crit bonuses from the character as a result but I would like to see this implemented in game. may be a kesytone with:
aloud the use of 2h swords in 1 hand 20-40% less attack speed higher damage per hit but an overall lower dpm could be a nice trade off. self found league fan

Would be a nightmare to balance and there is alot of problem coming from that, just think about how caster would use this with 2 staff or a shield

2H sword and a shield, that just sounds not right to me. I would rather see good ole Barbarian style of wielding 2x2H, man that was badass:)

I hate the aesthetic. Dual-wielding already offends me enough as it is.

Barbarism (keystone)
You can wield Two-Handed Melee Weapons in one hand Removes all Intelligence (Hidden: Voice acting now grunts instead of using words) Note that you can't really go double-staff for blocking, and that all skills with Intelligence requirements of any kind (many of which are considered key to endgame melee) are cut off. Also, all Auras and Heralds require Intelligence, so damage wouldn't be overwhelming. When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. I'm for it. You can do this on the Crusader class in Diablo 3 and its my favorite thing about that character :D. Would be very hard to balance though.
Here are some things that I think could be used in some combination to balance it: - X% increased Stat requirements for Two-Handed weapons - X% reduced Attack speed - X% increased mana cost of skills - X% reduced weapon damage - You cannot dual wield Maybe something like this: - 33% increased stat requirements for Two-Handed weapons - 10% reduced attack speed - 20% increased mana cost of skills |

"My suggestion is better. Removing Auras and Heralds (and reducing max Mana) does these things in a much more elegant and flavorful manner. Also, I feel dual-wielding staves as a spellcaster is best kept to the realm of impossibility. When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. " Actually Caboom's suggestion was better. Though I think it should only involve Axes and Swords, and not Staves, as that would be too much block alongside too much offense...plus how the hell do you wield two Staves haha. Caboom's suggestion translates to
60% more Melee Physical Damage 40% less Attack Speed That isn't a choice, that's an auto-include. And no matter what number is picked, it will never be anything more than a spreadsheet calculation.
