I hope they go to people who will use and appreciate them. No sense in analyzing every marketing step the devs make. They want the game to flourish, and are going about it the best way they know how.

He played the game more then most of your time taken together.
Everybody gets burned out, i for my part am just back after probably +5k hours. He got a Key from GGG because he reaches about +40.000 players to promote to poe, who probably never heard of it before. And he does it every time poe brings something new up, regardless what blizzfanboy kripp is. That is why he got a key and not you or others, who are just going to play the beta for their self amusement. Its all about advertisement and GGG needs more ads and players to continue the game. You also need new players to test, to verify the new soul of the game, if it feels fluid. A Veteran cant tell you that, because he is already rushing thru content - been there done that.. You all complaining here are already playing the game and will so regardless what happens, thats a fact and you know it, i know it and ggg knows it too. Because its a god damn good game and with even more content and an incoming oos fix. Its about a new chapter, a new age and hopefully about raising poe level of awareness to a unknown height and not giving some salty veterans access to a unfinished beta. So stop whining maggots and be happy to be part of something special for such a long time. And iam sure 5-10% of those HS Kiddies will turn to the dark side now. They got super hyped yesterday and the stream liked chris alot!! <3 |

didn't think he got keys to give away (meh already enuff salt who cares) but got zero problem with kripp in beta, he has brought plenty of attention to this game since early on and would much rather watch him then others

As for old merits: it is important to not forget the people who contributed to making Path of Exile the great game it becomes once next patch hits. Even if Chris stopped being engaged in PoE for a year for whatever reason, it would still be right to appriciate him one year later for his contributions to the game. Even if you don't like the guy, look at the bigger picture.
PoE is on the twitch.tv front page for two days. Twitch.tv has hundreds of thousand consecutive users (meaning daily unique views are likely in the millions), most of them gamers, that will see a "new" game on the front page and may check it out. It is essentially a large advertising campaign that cost them 5 beta keys instead of big bucks. |

Casuals play because it's fun, not to achieve any goal unreachable with their resources. We are playing for the next difficulty, the next keystone, the next item upgrade. Not to feel better than anyone else. |

They finally give out more keys(only 5 but still) in other means than the lottery or big streamers yet people still complain.
I get it, I wanna play the beta too, but guess we just all have to wait for a key or get into the open beta. It is what it is. |
