Official live stream doesn't always go well. E.g. Trion's live streams only averages a few hundred viewers. They usually seek out streamers (at least trying to) and give them some incentives for their viewers. HOWEVER, I think the cult-ness in PoE is pretty strong, GGG might do pretty well with their own official live stream. Tho it will be mainly the current players that cares enough would watch... and would have very little in stealing the attention of new players. The real hardcore PoE players and the elites sit in town and zoning in and out of their hideouts trading items. Noobs that don't know how to play PoE correctly, kill monsters for items.
