I think he might be confusing AA by itself with AA along with MoM and already high armor+End charges. Suddenly you seem a lot tougher when you realize you are mixing so many defenses together.

You could quote the rest. Generally, the hard-hitting mobs are the slower ones. You should never die to them unless you just stay in place. AA mitigates a lot of damage on it's own. Sure, Bonecrusher's will fuck you up, but they should never even be able to reach you in the first place. Especially with a Q'd AA

If your employing AA as a defense your generally of the intel side of the passive tree and utilizing tactics associated with this part of the tree.

This side comes with avoidance (minions) and crowd control ability's (slow/freeze/curses) and is mainly ranged (special snowflakes tend to disregard this tendency, but as a result perform worse, this is self induced) as such he is correct, big hard hitting monsters should not be hitting you to begin with.

even then a granite potion of the iron skin coupled with a high level AA can go a long way. Even without MoM.
