It's not like I was duping items or exploiting glitches or selling things for RL cash. My "cheating" only affected my personal gameplay and it was used to enhance my enjoyment for the game.

To be honest, if I was banned for something that I felt was worth a permaban, i'd shrug it off and make a new account because I would've known the risks but to be banned like this, really just puts a bad taste in my mouth and I feel it's time to move on. (Plus I don't want to download the game again and can't figure out how to make a new PoE account through Steam XD)

Still, I don't know any online game where cheating is allowed, I don't know what he expected to happen.

Yes, the RL cash I was talking about was for stash tabs and the supporter packs, NOT RMT outside of the game. Not sure if this is allowed but I was banned for using a 3rd party program to enable the zoom "hack"...that is all. I really don't understand how that affects the game in any way other than to remove the very limited zoom out in the game.

Before anyone starts flaming me, I'm not saying that GGG was wrong in this situation. I understand that there has to be strict rules for such things as some people use these same types of hacks for much worse things and it would be quite a chore to decipher how a player used the software before determining the ban status so it seems they just permaban anyone whose detected as using said software.

The only reason I posted in the first place was because I had no idea why I was banned and I wasn't sure how to find out. Now that I have that info, I'm content with just moving on. This community is great and the game is excellent and I will miss it but I just don't have the time to start over from scratch.

The zoom hack is just about the biggest hack for the game it trivialises the content, particularly for races, makes farming some stuff much easier and quicker which infers an advantage even if you only play solo and don't trade...and as i'd said it's only been available as far as i know through hack tools gained from sites dedicated to hacking...there are warning on those sites about possible bans as well and it being in the ToS as bannable.
