Account banned information???

Hi everyone, I am not sure if this is the correct place to put this but I just built a new computer and after getting PoE re-downloaded, I tried to login to my account through steam and it's telling me that my account has been banned by an administrator.....

Why on earth was my account banned? Where can I find this info out? I have never used any hacks or anything and I haven't even played the game in probably 4-5 months due to RL. I'm pretty upset about it but if I did anything that would cause a ban, I would sure love to know the reason, considering I spent a decent amount of money on this game and the fact that I had over 400 hours of play time invested as well.

Anyway, I'm at a loss for what to do now because there is no way that I am going to start over from the beginning and try to re-acquire everything so I guess this is the end of my PoE adventure. :(

If anyone can offer some insight on how I can find out why I was banned or what(if anything) can be done about it, that would be great.

Thank you for the quick response! This might sound stupid but how do I find out what my account details are? :P I always just logged in through steam and as I said above, I haven't played in a while and I cannot recall what my forum login was. I remember the character names though.

Well shoot, I got my answer and I didn't even know that what I was doing was a bannable offense...ugh. Perm-ban seems way too harsh for a first time offense but to each their own I guess. I wasn't even trying to cheat and that sucks because I really did love this game and I definitely wouldn't have done it if I'd have known it was against the rules. Newb lesson learned I suppose.

Maybe you guys might want to think about issuing warnings/temp bans for something so insignificant as my offense in the future instead of the perm-ban so newbs like myself might actually have a chance to learn from their mistakes. Just my 2 cents.

You still have the option to create a new account, so it's not a total loss.

Best of luck for your new character if you decide to create a new one - with Act 4 coming soon it will be well worth it.

They did issue a warning months ago. Many people thought they were kidding and got banned. They too claimed it was a first or minor offense and it should only be a temporary ban. You can see how they needed to have a strict policy or they'd forever have people wasting their time trying to get out of the ban.

You haven't played in a while. Why don't you just start playing on a new account? You're allowed multiple accounts. Just make sure you uninstall your cheat software or whatever it was that got you banned in the first place. Act 4 is coming in the next month or two and will have new challenge leagues with it. Good time to get back into the game with a fresh economy.

Thanks for the responses guys but there is just no way that I could stomach starting over from scratch after putting in over 400 hours of gameplay + RL cash into my last account. I'm not sure if it's against the rules to say why I was banned so I will leave that out but imo it wasn't anything that should warrant a perm-ban. Especially for a 1st offense of a loyal supporter.

It's not like I was duping items or exploiting glitches or selling things for RL cash. My "cheating" only affected my personal gameplay and it was used to enhance my enjoyment for the game.

To be honest, if I was banned for something that I felt was worth a permaban, i'd shrug it off and make a new account because I would've known the risks but to be banned like this, really just puts a bad taste in my mouth and I feel it's time to move on. (Plus I don't want to download the game again and can't figure out how to make a new PoE account through Steam XD)

Anyway, good luck with act4! I was really waiting for that to drop dang it! :)

So...QoL particle removal? loot filters? zoom hack?

Don't know why you would think they are OK, you have to get them from sites that are dedicated to hacks/expliots etc.

Rule of thumb, if you can't get it through the games site it's almost certinly not allowed
