devourer worms as arcer

@Topic Poster: Heh, outside of the ES armor, you definitely have better gear than me. When you say 2 Devourers pop up, where is this? In maps, zones?

In either case, I would remove the Wanderlust for better boots. You don't really need Wanderlust, just make sure you have a "of Heat" flask. I would also remove the Eye of Chayula for a better amulet and just take the chain stuns, but that's specific to my setup and may not work for you.

im currently running wanderlust.

if I get a str boots with insane resists I can get dream fragments to fix this.

The problem is there is no dream fragments for sale on standard, so I may have to chance my own.

Really? poe.trade shows a bunch, and a good number of people that were online. Dream Fragments is relatively common. If it's a matter of cost, I've got one on Standard. PM me, and we can probably work something out.

It's really simple: one 2-link is Enduring Cry + Spell Echo (CwDT cannot be used with echo, so it is definitely self-cast). Another can be 2-link for self-cast(IC+ID) or 3-link for auto-cast (IC+ID+CwDT). The trick with latter is that Immortal call duration is tied to gem level, but CwDT also have a restriction to supported gem level, so this is a choice between self-cast, long-duration IC or auto-cast, short-duration IC. Of course, you can level CwDT so it can trigger long-duration IC but then you will have to take more damage to trigger it.

Ah, I didn't know that spell echo didn't work with CwDT. I was never satisfied with Auto Cast IC, so it's slowly worked it's way out of my builds. It always either seemed not long enough to do any good or too infrequent to do any good. I also am a lot better player now than I was when I last tried it. Maybe it's time to try again, and do it this time with the self cast set up. I've got a Claw Shadow that's more fragile than he should be. :)

I think I misread Nat's comment. Actually sounds like he has two pieces to that mitigation. Sounds like Enduring cry+Spell echo runs enduring cry twice for twice the charges, then Immortal call is hooked to increased duration for more than the half second or whatever the base duration is. It also sounds like he might be either self casting one or other or he has two CWDT setups. The "normal" setup is CWDT-EC-IC-Increased Duration.

No. CWDT does not care about support gem level. You can use CWDT (any level) + Immortal Call (Level must fit with CWDT) + Increased Duration (Any level, but best to have it at level 20. This isn't limited by CWDT's requirement).

But yes, self-cast is a far better option if you are willing to do it. Proc setups might not work with the changes, since Enduring Cry won't be a spell anymore, it'll be a "use" or "Cast".

Edit:

You can further improve Immortal Call's duration by an Enhance gem. This gives 0.01 seconds per 1% quality that IC has. A level 4 Enhance will give 24%, translating to .24 seconds per e-charge.

English, Exile! Do you speak it?
And worst change is putting almost all bosses in new version of maps into fucking small areas, where you can't kite well or dodge stuff. What a terrible idiot invented that I want say to him: dude flick you, seriously flick you very much.
I always brought a Storm Call gem with me for Devourers. I find that Arc doesn't have enough punch to take out two Devourers, unless they're mixed in with a larger group of other monsters.

PS: I have 5.1k tooltip dps on my arc, and 8k+ with power charges, frenzy charges.

O, lol, and I thought that 12K tooltip on my non-crit Arc is piss poor :)

Anyway, I see that you have empty sockets in chest, why you don't put there eg. Arc totem for additional distraction and DPS?

Anticipation slowly dissipates...
Devouvers deal pure phys dmg, both melee and projectile(red ball is misleading).
Use Arc in your chest and setup CWDT IC in your new boots or helm.
Quality IC and high level Increased Duration helps a lot.
They do very high physical damage so you need armor, Immortal Call or some sort of avoidance to tank them. But when they have extra elemental damage mods they are still very dangerous unless you have high avoidance.

Arctic Armor is a very good defense against them as well. You should be able to run at least a level 1 as CI. When they come up you just run past them and they are unable to hit you because of the chilled ground. Doesn't work very well on maps with attack speed mods.

es prolly ci and he has armor values between 0 and 150 of course he gets obliterated
get a iron granite everytime a devourer spawns you press it and you get armor values between 5 and 8k huge difference
