I think it was more that that Kripp could no longer exist, not in Poe, and there wasn't really anywhere else. He changed afterwards, sure, succubus and all that. But he didn't change while he still had the habitat to be who he originally was.

poe lost kripps attention not because it was 'too easy' or some nonsense like that

kripp loves (or used to love) exeprimenting and breaking shit in games
when poe was new he discovered a ton of things and did lots of analysis

at this point there are very few new builds coming out, game is basically well explored and well established. nothing in it is 'new'

we got different community members doing shit he used to do much more in depth (ie Ghudda breaking shit like all the time). at this point havoc is a better grinder/nolifer/trader than kripp too.

old kripp was a leader, not a follower. he did most things in the game and tested it out very well.

think of a qa tester who just receives a new product and tests it blackbox style. hes very excited at first because thousands of features and ability to break the product a lot, early on

after a year, the excitement is gone. testing is limited to mundane regression testing. automation is written, stress tests are made, performance monitors are on all the time. theres really not that much to do.

Personally I never expected him to stream POE for 3 years. I don't expect any streamer to stream the same game for 3 years.

People hate him because he played/stream before most of these guys even heard about PoE. They are accustomed to newer streamers like ziggyD and some others who these newcomers likes to compare to kripp which is the "old school" from the beta days...

Kripp came up with some of the most popular builds, kripp actually pointed out (many times with mathmatical prove) why physical damage in PoE is subpar compare to elemental. This is why GGG nerfed the crap out of elemental damage scaling (as well as one of the most notorious spec "DW Elemental Cleave") and made physical damage better and better... today physical damage is so good you can spec full physical damage and deal more elemental damage than a full blown elemental damage build due to superior scaling with Hatred, HoA, Added Fire and the latest physical to lightning.

These people had no idea at one point there were virtually no competitive physical builds, what changed this partly we will have to thank to Kripp repeatedly making videos making fun of physical damage vs AR calculation. A lot of oldschoolers knew Kripp also helped in shaping what PoE is today...

But you cant really blame all these newbie players that dont like him. All they know about Kripp is kripp is cocky and used to play poe and is now a blizzard sell out because they just hate everything thats blizzard due to the typical fanboism. Kripp was the most "informative" and HC streamer in poe... which unfortunately is still unparalleled by any of the newcomer streamers.

a lot of half truths there tbh. no competitive physical builds, right, thats why kerkrom and etup were on top of the hc ladder playing ek while kripps freeze pulser was where exactly? Nowhere. Physical = bad and armour = bad are 2 of the most bullshit things Kripp ever said and the game is still suffering from the nonsense that was his opinions on those subjects. I heard Helman say it in his stream not too long ago "physical sucks because you dont do anything for your party, its just damage, where as an elemental build freezes or shocks thats why physical is bad". Right, cause its not like every physical build has hatred and freezes just like a cold build... oh wait they do. Just absolutely clueless bullshit coming out of his mouth that has been put there by listening to Kripp basically.

Ziggy is not a new streamer, ziggy was streaming diablo 3 when it came out same as kripp and then moved to poe same as kripp, same with nugi. Theres a lot of streamers who are way more informative than Kripp, the basis of all Kripps builds had been done before, he read about them on the forums and then sketched up a slightly edited Kripp version.




Kripp used to be a fun watch, now he is complete cancer and I hope he never comes back. Its pretty obvious he is bored of gaming now, every single game he tries to play he talks shit about because he blatantly cant be bothered and he knows his moneystone viewers want to hear him talk shit about anything that isnt blizzard. Hes done with gaming, so his choices now are get a rel job or just play moneystone for as long as it pays, so thats what he is doing. He is a terrible advertisement for any game and only brings harm. He would come back to PoE, ask Bob what a good build is, Bob will tell him searing bond because Bob knows fuck all about the same either, then 5k viewers would sit there and watch Kripp make PoE look like the most boring game in the world while playing the most boring burn based build in the game and looking painfully bored every single minute of it.



edit: just want to note that I really like kripp as a bloke, hes a good egg, nothing against him personally.
