There you go. yes it's right next to spyware, it detects certain exe's, files, hooks, dll injection methods. basically it scans your desktop down to routefiles. Personally I don't care as there is nothing malicious on my pc and yes GGG you can scan my PC I give you permission, maybe you might want to include this in your EULA so that the rest of us can agree to it Last edited by Devilbliss#0376 on Jan 19, 2015, 11:43:02 AM

" My understanding is that scans active processes. If you have all the bots in the world on your computer but are running none of them, GGG won't know. Can you show me otherwise? |

" Yes your right it does scan active processes but also lays the foundation for quick update's which WILL catch the bot's. These bot programs leave very little if anything detectable by GGG hook's and DLL injection's are the easiest to spot, unfortunately from what I can see the boting programs seem to have been born from an overlay program so good luck getting them. Maybe this is the first step's for GGG and I support that, but they really should make us all aware of what their new system is doing we should all agree to it don't you think? They also scan exe names. So in theory if you changed your notepad to "bottingprogramname".EXE and had it open when you boot up poe theres a possible ban coming your way. Never understood GGG, guy's it's the simple things take away windowed mode take away 800x600 resolution, do that and the overlay programs are all gone. Maybe they won't be gone forever as in my opinion you can never stop a talented individual from attempting this kind of action but at least stop making it so easy for them Last edited by Devilbliss#0376 on Jan 19, 2015, 12:17:06 PM

We have a saying where I am from where "You can't blame people for something they haven't done yet."
So while yes someday they may indeed decide to scan your computer to the core, they aren't at the moment. The day they do that quick update which let's them, is the day we should kill them for it. Agreed? |

" yes agreed, but without EULA agreement how can they expect us to trust them |
![]() |
" Because they haven't done anything scummy yet in their history. Even their profit model is ethical. Someday they might be scumbags, and then they'll lose my trust. |

" You should. Functionality poe client now possess is borderline spyware at best. " I do not think that it is possible to sue them, but I would advise to be careful and ever-watchful with any and all GGG products. In years to come

" Wouldn't hurt to talk to one with a background in privacy laws. You never know what might pop up. Maybe through this, they'll be forced to take the program down and you will have done the community a favour. But it's up to you, really. Vote +1 to change Path of Exile to Path of Nerfs.
We hate to say, but ProjectPT was right. |

You know stuff like gameguard or anti hack programs installed on your PC is a commonplace practice in games in the past.
People acting like this is new or something. |
