Kickstarter Campaign for PoE's Optional Self Found League!

This won't ever work, people will just find a way around it.

Like creating an instance and dropping stuff on the ground.

The idea is good though, I play self-found "almost" exclusively because it gives me the best experience,
trying to make a char viable with scarce resources.

There is nothing stopping me from playing this way and I would not want to force this upon others.

If the SFL league were to be a thing though. I would personally change my sfl playstyle into becoming a black-market dealer, finding a way to beat the system. This is why we can't have nice things.

I don't remember where i read this, but if i am not incorrect chris mentioned somewhere that an exalt drops for a player in roughly 400 hours of play +-.

So on average it would be 400000 hours played to amount 100 exalts reliably.

Pretty sure the league would have ended by that time if it ever became a reality.

Don't be dissing that life on kill modifier mate. It might be a T1 roll bro.

edit : in my case this league i think i had two characters at 87, one at 80 and one at 82 before i got my first exalt drop. (this does not account for xp loss due to deaths, so additional time needs to be added to account for that)

If that is the case, I am the luckiest person in the game. And the people I play with. And everything I've witnessed to date. No idea how many hours I've played but easily had 20-30 exalts drop at this point. I can say with high certainty that I have not played 8000 to 12000 hours.

Not every is created equal. I think people that focus on higher characters tend to have highly refined clear speeds. There is that too.

I forgot where i heard this and what the exact details where, but it was about a high end currency and the average being 400 hours per player +-.

I could check my play-time on my current characters, but that wouldn't give a good estimate given RNG etc.

In two and a half year of play i found two eternals, so that would put me at an extremely high end of that 400 hours curve do :).

Never found an eternal ever, so yeah....my current ratio is '1 every Never' :)

I am in for this one 100%. Imo, it would make a game more enjoyable and rewarding.

The biggest problem I have with POE is there really is nothing to do when I finish a character I wanted to make. The most fun part of the game is theorycrafting, and not being able to plan every single item in advance would make it a much longer process. My gameplay has become really antifun the more I played the game, because 90% of time spent is trading for the things I need to complete my character. When I am done, I play for a day or two and then find out that there really is nothing to do when I am done with my build (sure, farming maps/atziri can make you richer, but what for, I am done anyway, spending 2 months and 250 exalts on 10k more dmg while already one shotting most of the endgame content? No tnx.). If it works like a charm, good for me, I have done it, neeeeext.

A self found league would make it much more interesting, it is constant theorycrafting, trying to achieve something with a gear you have, and overall process of building a character would last much longer.

Apart from that, I would be so much more eager to build something new with the gear I have collected and saved for some other build. I think no one can compare the situation where you have just found Windripper with your Summoner, or just buying Windripper when you want to play a ranger. These days, when I finish my build, I spam trade chat, bump my threads on forum and try to sell my gear so I would be able to buy a complete 99% finished character. I spend 3 days selling, 1 day leveling to 70, 2 days playing, and it gets boring.

And ofc, doing self found on my own is not an option in a competitive online only game, it would be so much more fun to compare with others.

Self found league would be the dream...

I'm down for a self found 1 month / 1 week race idk about a whole 3 month league as self found but there are worse things I can think of.

Yeah i think everyone fancies self found now after we see GGG being lenient on banning cheaters and RMT-ers, at least we can play without them affecting the game.
