Kickstarter Campaign for PoE's Optional Self Found League!

We need to push more players into the same leagues, not split them up even more. For every diablo player out there, they know SF sucks. It's nice in theory but it never works out.

Oh and btw, i like the trading system in poe.

Nice to hear from some old timers in here (hey kolp!). I wonder if it's natural to become more anti-trade the longer you play the game (it certainly was the case with me - I was avidly pro trade in the early days)?

I'd love to know where Ventor, AXN and some of the trade heavies actually come out on this topic - I mean, in terms of whether they'd *enjoy* playing PoE more in a pure SFL given they basically have unlimited resources in Standard...

C - what's your opinion as to why Chris and Qarl are so anti an optional SFL? Is it really a philosophical view that you can already self-found in the existing leagues, or is it deeper or more business-oriented than that?

I certainly know that I've become much more anti-trade over the years. There is something about the challenge leagues that is both alluring and repulsive to me. I do like the fact that it is a fresh economy, everyone starts out on equal footing, no legacy stuff, etc. But it lacks the permanence of Standard/HC. I long for a new *permanent* league, a new universe of players in their own world, with new rules (self found ofc).

I remember the golden age of PoE (imho). Closed beta was great, but I really enjoyed open beta. That was my favorite period of gameplay personally. As the years have gone on, I have noticed that the "game" now for me is more of a labor of love. Login, respond to all the trade requests over past couple days, update shops, mirror services, etc etc. Its like a part time job, and that's before I even start to do my daily missions, map with mates, level alts, test new builds, farm for items/currency, etc. SFL would solve many of my current issues with the game. I'm in no way saying that it would address everyone's issues, but it is a facet of the game that has been missing imo, and one that needs to finally be implemented.

Time to quit the game i would say, because its not a job, its for fun. If you have fun doing this "job" then keep it up but it sounds like a hassle and burden on you.

You have a choice, you dont have to do all these things you mention, like trading and mirror service stuff and shop updates. Dont like it anymore, dont do it. Thats like having sex for the sake of doing it, not because you wanna do it.

Game = fun

Not fun anymore, stop playing.

Real life = job

Not always fun, start playing a game to have fun.

Rules to live by.
You can do things that the game steers you towards doing that aren't really fun but you feel compelled to do because it gets you to things that are fun.
Standard Forever
Didn´t they want to make private leagues anyway?

I would enjoy playing a SFL and I would even start all over after playing SF on standard for 2 years (account was created today 2 years ago :D) It would be nice if someone from GGG could give their opinion on this idea.

So if someone don't LOVE the game anymore like it is, they can't speak about it or suggest changes? Just quit? The suggestions forum is just for show?

You sound like an 80 year old retired priest, terrified of changes.

I just can't figure out how someone can be against a SFL. How does this affect you? Why do you want to keep all those self found players in standard? Or hard core? Do you even play in those leagues?

Why are you against a broader audience?
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

Um, what?
I'd play for more fair ladder competition.

I really thought what I wrote was very easy to read but I'll try again and spell it out as clearly as possible.

You told him to quit because he mentioned that he wasn't having fun and in your opinion if your not having fun you need to simply leave and stop complaining. Fair enough except that he didn't say that he wasn't having ANY fun, he was talking about things like trading that he doesn't have much fun doing anymore but of course he does it because that's the way the game is designed. He does it to get ahead and get to the fun stuff like exceptional gear that he wants. So he like the OP are pointing out improvements that they would like to see done. Games aren't usually fun 100% of the time that your playing. Telling someone to quit because they are experiencing issues with the game and providing feedback is wrong and unfair.
