Might be time to start on POE2 and forget future acts. Real talk
" This is pretty much true. Even PoE is riddled with P2W in spite of GGG claiming it's not thanks to RMT websites. |

>people still falling for flashy trailers When will people learn? Only thing PoE 2 would be good for is better engine and less desync. Everything else is fine, you can't expect perfect balance in a game that offers so much variety. Perfect balance would also be fucking boring but I guess most people don't see why that is. GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

Lets see here:
Desync Happens get used to it or bind a macro, improvements are apparently made on this quite often as I haven't had an issue since before 1.3 with cyclone. Yes it can happen during races or other characters but you can learn when it will happen and avoid or plan for it. Optimization/stability I've played this game on a LAPTOP with 4G tethered internet, I seriously don't understand how people have issues running the game. As far as optimization goes, I hope act 4 brings something to the table to not cause anymore issues for people struggling, but at some point people have to upgrade from the toasters. Balance What balance, an ARPG will never be "balanced" people that complain constantly (OP is one of them) should just go play another game, its obvious that you aren't happy with whatever GGG does, complaining here isn't helping. Meta happens, trends happen, with the leagues every few months they try to mix things up, but balance will never and can never happen. Best example I can show you is a game like D3, everyone basically plays the same build depending on what class they are, very few deviate from the "meta" Mapping system issues GGG has stated they want to add an alternative to endgame mapping, which should be added in 1.4 (or act 4) As far as returns I don't understand how once a few people mention they have issues its automatically GGG nerfed map drop rates. No you just are down on RNG, drop to lower level maps or buy maps and roll with more then packsize or magic. Party vs solo play issues What issues, party has a natural advantage to being safer for most part, if anything the only issue with party is the extra MF added. Flaws in core game mechanics (linking, keystones, uniques, etc) These are what makes PoE, PoE. What flaws in this mechanics. Linking is no longer pure rng, thats awesome for players. Keystone are what makes the skill tree so interesting, finding the most efficient pathing to them, ect. Unique items are in a good place now. They typically provide a unique feature at the cost of providing less stats. PoE is no where near the D3 meta of class sets or GTFO. Needing a unique in every slot. https://youtu.be/T9kygXtkh10?t=285 FeelsBadMan Remove MF from POE, make juiced map the new MF. Last edited by goetzjam#3084 on Jan 6, 2015, 4:16:54 PM

" Unique items in a good place? Ha! Spellcaster witch - better get that CoD! Melee mara/duelist - better get that Belly! Melee duelist/ranger, ranged ranger - better get that LC! Want to play LL? Hope to god you get shavs. Unique state in the game is laughable right now. „I don't give a fuck if it was his tenth anniversary with his goddamn neckbeard...“
„If they think I'm going to let them sweep this pizza guy thing under the rug...“ No mod action. Business as usual. |

" Compared to other games for sure it is. " Or carcass jack or vaal regalia or good 5 link budget chest. Contrary to popular belief you don't need MoM in order to play as a spell caster. " Or a good rare with super high armor or evasion or a budget 5 link. " The -max res paired with the adjustment of the effectiveness really does put this unique in its place. It provides 500/500 armor\ev, many chest can beat it out in res, LIFE, and armor or evasion. " Or you know the budget chest solaris lorica. Low life is such a niche build its kinda of surprising to me GGG added a budget chest to allow for more builds. Out of all of those unique chest you mentioned only shavs\solaris lorica is required for those respective builds, the others while might be most optimal or not 100% necessary. " Your views on chest is even more laughable as I just EASILY explain why you are incorrect. But please bring in more then 1 of the 9 item slots and just call uniques in a bad place still. https://youtu.be/T9kygXtkh10?t=285 FeelsBadMan Remove MF from POE, make juiced map the new MF. " The problem here is that not everyone would see issues on that list. Some are seen as issues by people leaving, and non issues by people that stay. Maybe because developers have to make design choices and that every game is not supposed to fit to everyone's tastes. A lot of these so called "issues", if they were "fixed" (or changed), would make people leave too. 1) I think we can all agree that desync is an issue, that's for sure. It's an objective problem and everyone suffers from it, even those (the vast majority of the players that are still here) who play around it. I'll add that the game itself suffers a lot of it too because it makes it look so cheap and amateur when you're checking the game for the first time. Many people surely stopped without looking further into the game. 2) Optimization/Stability : it's already less objective. When I see screenshots here and on Reddit, it seems that a lot of PoE players expect to play the game on an Amiga 500. Except from the client crashes that affected a lot of people after 1.3.0 but were solved in a hotfix quickly after, I never had stability issues. I don't get freezes when opening exile strongboxes etc. I never lost an HC character because of optimization issues. And no, I don't run PoE with an i7 4700k and 2x 780Ti. But yes, on a non contextualized point of view (not only related to PoE then), optimization is a core objective issue. 3) Balance : In the context of PoE we're going further into the subjective area. People that left may think the balance in PoE is screwed. Others may not. And again, it's about design choices. Take the example of legacies in PvP (or in general). "Leavers" would say it's a core balance issue, when the devs (and a lot of players that stay around here) like the idea of legacies in permanent leagues (just like in Magic the Gathering, which is a key inspiration for PoE don't forget that). On an objective point of view, we can't say that legacy is an issue. Legacies are only an example though. I'll add on that topic that balance "issues" are not always seen as problematic by everyone, they are not objective issues. It may seem odd, but imbalance is not objectively problematic. Some aspects of game design can add imbalance to make the game more fun or to give it a fresh taste. Imbalance can also be a positive factor to keep the community alive, creating discussions etc. It's pretty obvious in Versus Fighting games, "thanks to" imbalance people spend hours to speak about match ups, they make tier lists (that character has x% chance to win against that one etc),... I'll give you the example of Street Fighter 3rd strike. Capcom decided after the full release to make a balance redesign to solve what they think were balance issues (there were OP characters etc.). But the community chose to play on the first version, even at tournaments, because of the fun aspect that imbalance added to the game. The last tournament I went to a few months ago still took place on the first version of the game, the "non fixed" one. Mapping system issues : again, design choices. The devs don't want the higher tier of maps to be chained, they want it to be a little extra. They also always wanted the higher levels to be difficult to reach, and last leagues trivialized that part of PoE way too much compared to what the vision of the game was supposed to be. I like the fact we're going back on that, it's a good thing, not an issue at all. If leavers may think it's an issue, lots of stayers came to PoE because the grind was supposed to be real and content not trivialized too easily. It's more like a "I like I stay/I don't like I leave" case in my opinion. Party vs solo : same thing. Lots of people would argue that PoE is an online multiplayer game and it's no surprise group play is more rewarding. It's can be seen as purely logical, not problematic. Flaws in core game mechanics (linking, keystones, uniques, etc) : same thing. IGN : @Morgoth Last edited by Morgoth2356#3009 on Jan 6, 2015, 5:48:47 PM

" Pretty much this. While this game does have somewhat decent population and does generate healthy revenue, they could be reaping so many more benefits by fixing core problems. If you're reading this, I'm probably on another year-long ban.
Thanks GGG. |

" No I mean you pay with time. No matter what you have to pay. It's just a question of how. Some people grind, some ppl trade and flip, some use RM - all to "win". I don't pass judgements on any style just stating fact. Ultimately all styles are an exchange of your time for "winning" even RM since you had to earn RM with time. Git R Dun!
