" Hm, yeah, but why do you think 'PoE2' wouldn't have the exact same issues, being developed by the same people? With the exception of maybe a better 3D engine performance (if they would use some licensed engine), it would have the same flaws - questionable balance, desync, tradecore game design, RMT friendly, luck-gated endgame... " More or less this. I would play POE2 too but I would wait longer before supporting the game knowing the past history. GGG made a lot of mistakes also about communication (reddit,forum moderation etc etc). I think GGG do better with RMT than most but they kind of blinded themselves on things like maphack for too long before acting, they seen ladder being corrupted and done nothing. They also treated diamonds like shit sometime and it really hurt their image imo. Forum pvp https://www.instagram.com/critterspencils/ Last edited by lolozori#1147 on Jan 6, 2015, 2:31:06 PM

" Well, I guess we'll see if you're right in about another two years time. In the meantime, I will continue to play PoE and EQ. But if Lineage Eternal succeeds in combining the ARPG and MMORPG to the degree they appear to be doing it, there won't be much reason to have to choose one or the other anymore. P.S. - As for Grim Dawn, I will also check that out. Last edited by Gemdraco#2335 on Jan 6, 2015, 2:41:27 PM

" experience. trial by fire. better performance is something I think we can expect. good enough balance can be achieved by not trying to bite more than they could chew all at once, meaning maybe a smaller tree or one which slowly unlocks new sections as the game develops. maybe less gems but more focus on synergies between them, and so on. netcode/packet-error-handling is an issue, but easier to deal with when developing something from the ground up, compared to trying to fix in a finished game. as for RMT-friendly tradecore with RNG all over the place, well... one can only hope I guess. maybe, just maybe. Don't want to burst bubbles here but the earliest date to play a possible POE successor (aka POE2) with all its pre alpha, alpha, beta and final stages would be around 2023-2025.
To finance, code and to design such a game from scratch is an extremely massive venture. - Best Signature Ever - Last edited by BestUsernameEver#6698 on Jan 6, 2015, 9:37:49 PM

Making anther game is huge undertaking compare to new act so it will have to wait.
And your want for perfection, for and you only because we all have different tastes and can't please everyone, are unrealistic anyway. Just enjoy game on it's face or not. That doesnt mean things can't be improved but with a laundry list like you got I question why play game at all. Git R Dun!

" The game is made by Smilegate. This studio made Crossfire. A F2P P2W counterstrike. This game is one of the highest earning F2P games created, earning several billion dollars since it was released You should really do your research on the odds of LE being P2W. All games are pay to win. Some just let you use RM.

@OP
I think GGG is already working on it.... " I agree, but it is a lesser venture than write PoE-alpha/beta with only a few developers and without any experience on how a ARPG with a global economy works and without any income. They only need some time to design and code a good product. And I realized that in the GGG team there are some people which had been very involved in playing MtG, which is porobably the most succesfull fantasy game of all time. They know what to do.
