is Static Strike strong? [build inside] [20k DPS milestone reached]
" since I'm using Static Strike, Astramentis isn't something that can be outclassed in my opinion. for Glacial Hammer you basically need raw damage, so a >50 strength amulet fit that purpose. but Static is damage + AoE + fast charge gain (from attack speed), which translates to all three properties from Pillar, meaning all three attributes. one important thing I forgot to add to OP, is the "neat trick" I mentioned of leap-slamming while fully charged with Static - hitting enemies along the way - is no longer a "trick". it's a viable strategy that helped me through Sceptre Of God on Cruel. it's a great way to play this build, and create a "chemistry" between Static Strike and Leap Slam. reached level 60 and grabbed Abyssus off the stash shelf.
dear god. this thing almost tripled my DPS. had to get rid of Tabula Rasa for a decent 5-link though. feeling the loss of my beloved Physical To Lightning gem - but a lot more survivable. updating OP. Alva: I'm sweating like a hog in heat

" To be honest, with so much flat physical damage, scaling (%) physical damage from tree and gears (even from Astramentis), getting attack speed is MASSIVE for even Glacial Hammer, so 11% increased attack speed from Astramentis (110 dex). Since I am using melee splash (with q16 which gives me like 16% increased AoE), that extra 5% increased AoE from Astramentis (100 int, I actually got 111 from ammy, but would need it to be perfect to make it 6% instead of 5%) is valuable. I can actually freeze and chill mobs from every direction and if I get surrounded, it actually makes my life easier because I just need to focus on one mob, and the rest shatters in no time. Edit: But yea, for Static Strike, Astramentis gives you three elements that improves your damage/AoE all in one go. I don't see the correlation between AoE and Astramentis. Are you guys talking about a corrupted Astramentis? Or just not wasting points on Int passives on tree due to huge stats buff and being able to use them for AoE passives?

" Pillar Of The Caged God gets % AoE from Intelligence, % attack speed from Dexterity, and % phys from Strength. all three are provided in a huge amount by Astramentis. all three make Static Strike shine, as well as Leap Slam. it's a great synergy, really. and then Abyssus comes in, and provides even more stats. but more importantly, it provides a HUGE fkn massive flat phys bonus. not to mention a critical multiplier which pushed my Static around 400 :) Alva: I'm sweating like a hog in heat Shadow: That was fun Last edited by johnKeys#6083 on Jan 10, 2015, 8:47:40 AM

I am just gonna throw this out there, converting to fully elemental damage is more of a trouble than gain in this game.
Not only you lose the leech but elemental reflect becomes a serious problem. [2.2] The Vampire - Tanky 2H Axe Slayer Duelist - /view-thread/1611662

This thread made me check out Static Strike on my "battlemage witch" project that I put on hold. The plan was for molten strike, but static is so much better (lvl 13 non-Q gem, lol). At fist I also planned for Pillar, but then opted for mace + shield for more survivability. Also plan to run 20/20 AA with lvl 3 Empower.
gear
Char lvl 76, with 7 power charges I get ~20k tooltip DPS. Still have to pick lots of crit nodes at Shadow & elemental nodes at Templar. At first I was using CoD, but MoM was giving me problems - burst damage & big hits would drain all my mana & disable AA, so I changed for Carcass (the increased AOE is very noticable and extra gore makes it so more fun :) current tree I replaced multistrike for WED. This way I get less desync & less of that crappy melee feeling that you are hitting air. Fighting feels less confusing. Currently I have to run Purity of lightning, but with a better suited jewelry combo (need to search through stash tabs) will be able to switch to Herald of thunder for more deeps. E: Also, the final build was supposed to use CoE + Rathpith, but we'll see... Abyssus gives a ton of dps and that shield I'm using currently, lots of evasion. " is a good sinergy but not the best in slot, an amulet with good stat rolls and flat phys > astramentis in my eyes. and given how expensive astramentis can get, its easier to get an amber with str/flat phys roll wich can then be improved with other stats. this one is being advertised for 18 chaos +30 to Strength Adds 11-24 Physical Damage +34 to Strength +23 to all Attributes +66 to maximum Mana self found league fan http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/324242/page/1 Last edited by caboom#7201 on Jan 10, 2015, 7:57:15 PM

That amulet gives a massive almost-astra-grade strength bonus, and more importantly a massive flat phys which is just raw DPS.
Yet the all-stat roll isn't comparable so I'd lose quite a bit of AoE and speed. It's great for the Glacial Hammer builds mentioned here. Possibly best in slot for them. Astramentis is best in slot for my Static Strike. Alva: I'm sweating like a hog in heat

Now that is left would be Meginord's Girdle to raise your DPS even more, and your life total, and your build is set for the most part. The good thing there is a couple of them in the market for like 4 chaos (in STD). Though, most are varying around the 12-25 chaos range.
