Communism vs Capitalism in POE

I don't think it's a good idea use use these concepts to frame this discussion. The problem is that, in a vary basic sense, capitalism = private ownership of capital. In PoE this means that players can own items and I would venture to guess that very few people opposes that.

The free market vs. communism dichotomy is not much better since, in reality, you always have both. Agents need some "freedom" (actual possibility to act) for there to be any market at all and no market can exist without some constraints/rules ("socialism"= normative evaluation of how the market should act, which I suppose you mean by this communism.) The question is not between these stances, but rather on how the market should be organized in practice for X (normative criteria).

So dropping these, we can try to flush out the issues. I suppose you are asking whether there should be more control over item pricing? Especially for the cases where someone overpays due to ignorance?

For that, I don't know how much is there to do really. GGG can't oversee trading fairness already due to a lack of resources. Also, I don't see a good way to restrict trading to only "fair trades" since that is fluid notion anyways.

I guess GGG could improve their tutorial by explaining about orb rations and maybe pointing at way to check prices.

Even 8 year olds playing runescape have tougher skin then they do.

It's not often the official forums for a game has as much trolling ad the 4chan threads, or as much ass kissing, dumb questions, and blog posts as reddit.

BAHAHAHAHHHHA

Not often? I can count on ONE HAND the number of games with a playerbase higher than 12 whose general forums aren't a massive hive of scum and villainy. And those forums are HEAVILY policed to keep it that way.
#1 rule of official forum boards of every video game ever: use the forums to relay info, gather suggestions, or the rare narrow-focused Poll; but NEVER as "feedback".

#2 rule: Never say the #1 rule in an official capacity. Let some guy on the forums say it, leaving yourself plausible deniability.

Communism isn't a "market model". What are you talking about is prices regulation.

GGG doesn't need to do anything, because the market regulates itself. Mostly through shop indexers - which are the best tools against "scamming". Which is really not "scamming", but shrewd salesmanship.

Uh, you people know how it was meant. Dont nitpick on the wording.

Now should GGG regulate the market or not?
Nah, they shouldn't regulate. Also, communism would just be pleasing the crybabies who complain about not having 6L shavs. Let it be a non-regulated capitalism.

I, for one, want a completely rule-less game. Regulation is a a rule, so...

Americans and their black&white view for everything. There is no capitalism in this game, socialistic economy either. This is feudalism, and trading is one huge marketplace where you can buy what you like for a price you want. And to get flipped and scammed too. If any other economy system is present, it would be under ggg's control. Invisible hand theory.

So cut the crap and go play, if you have strength left to do it.

I think lassez faire capitalism is closer to what GGG promotes in PoE. There would be little to be gained by implementing price controls (not to mention the headaches in trying to enforce them, or even to define pricing), and a lotta player outcry. =^[.]^=

Not yet, i wish i was though. Soon™

Didnt even think that was directed at me so, lol.

I think when it comes to POE and trading there are no scammers, like you can for example:

Buy a burger for 1.00 dollar, buy it for 1.50 dollars or 2.00 dollars. 3 different prices and 3 different sellers. Is the highest priced one the one people buy? Maybe. Are the 2 highest prices ones scams? No. Free market.

For the sake of those calling different priced items/orbs sellers scammers there should be a cap on prices because thats what they think is already there even though its not so.

What you ask for is GGG giving the little crybabies what they want. They should just be ignored, as they are a non-intelectual minority.
They just QQ about everything, and they are why we have nerfs and adjustments. Don't cater to them, tell them 'adapt or leave'.
