Generally speaking, Health Insurance is not a required clause in NZ Employment agreements, and taxes are incorporated into the salary package offered. The only other costs are ACC levies and the additional annual leave (works out to about 8% depending on contract).

So 70k pa would be a real cost of around 80k once additional costs are factored in (5.6k for leave, some for ACC levies - can't remember if these are calculated on gross salary or paid out as part of the employee tax deductions, been a while since I had "employees").

GGG pays employees in exalts Kappa.

I do wonder how can they afford to design content for a marginal number of players, eg:

1.) PvP
2.) Races, which now reward-wise cater only to a small number of extreme nolifers. Last season, 100* people accros the whole globe got to 500 points, for the second best reward. 320 people got to 250 points (prob. some mule accounts in there too)

*Out of supposedly 150.000+ 'players' (which includes RMT bots too)

Meanwhile Act 4 is coming soon (tm)...

Here's my take on supporting them: i was waiting for years for a game that would come close to the playstyle & design of Diablo 2, but with high screen resolution and some improvements.

When i found and tried PoE, i was so happy someone made such a game, that i decided they deserve at least as much money as their biggest competitor Diablo 3 costs in full retail, which was 100$ (60$ for base game and 40$ for expansion). I've already spent about 60-70€ on PoE which is about 80-90$, so they're bound to get at least 20€ from my side in the future... or more, depending on future payable Diablo 3 expansions ;)
