Concern regarding the Acuity nerf

According your logic GGG must give me back currency from all my items.
Because I have crit build and items for it.
Ctits were nerfed so items is not such good as before.

Item can change in values easily and quickly.
I assume you have never played during beta... did you know Lion's Heart used to worth 5ex+? now its more like 5chaos...

Wake of Destruction boots used to worth 3ex+ now moire like 3 chaos

Thunderfist gloves used to worth 5ex+ now maybe 5chaos a little more for legacy version but still less than 1ex.

What's funny tho? GGG didnt even really nerf the above mentioned items cept for thunderfist...

Should I ask for my exalts back when GGG decided to fuck with elemental attack builds during 1.0?

You seem to confuse values here. We're talking about an item that used to be worth 200 exa. But yes I see your point...

And to those saying one could expect this happening, they previously held a stance were they would not touch existing items, this is why we see Kaoms with 1000 life, etc etc. They have never before changed existing items. Sure CoE is one exception, but it was never intended to be used with PA anyway. So tell me how one could expect this?

You have to expect everything, its a game. And you didnt pay real money for it so why the QQ? You found orbs and traded orbs for more orbs i take it and maybe some items and then bought the acuity thingy. So, its pixels for pixels for more pixels. With numbers on them and some text. So, why not think before making a thread like this? You know GGG made POE, you know games go through balance cycles every now and then and you know any and all items, even if they were previously untouched could be changed at any given time.

It's kinda arrogant to say that one should not put any heart into a games currency. Sure I paid no cash for it, but I spent hours and hours. You seem to completely miss the point of the argument though. I'm not QQing about the loss of currency, I am merely stating that what they are doing is totally ruining the trade system in PoE standard league, a league a big part of their community enjoy the most.

Some things are too powerful even for standard league.

Yes, yes, you are right.

I still think there is a big difference. But oh well, I'll just treat good uniques in the future as temporary.

Please understand tho, that what I am crying out for is not compensation in currency, but merely a little something that makes the old "expensive" Acuitys stand out. Like 80% LS instead of 60%, more life or anything....

OMG, standard. The part of the game where chars from all HC leagues end when they die and chars from temp SC leagues as well. And putting any heart into a games currency, really? Overreacting much? I could go on and on about how i wish GGG would buff this or nerf that or whatever but i dont, its not my place to judge. Why is the item so bad now all of a sudden, now that its balanced you should be able to use it as GGG intends it to be used.

Dont take games too serious, dear, its not good for you in the long run. Rule of thumb: Life > games

Distract yourself with games, lose yourself in the game world but dont expect it to remain the same forever. They have only 1 thing in common, they both change and you adapt. So, adapt.

So, a much needed nerf to a pair of gloves that was a bit too good. Yes I agree with that.

But this nerf is doing something else besides nerfing an item. It puts the player in a position where s/he can not trust the integrity of value in items. Before this point you have always preserved items as they were, making them legacy. But now you nerf existing items so they drop below half of their original value.

I spent hard earned currency to acquire these gloves. I trusted my investment would not turn out to be a total spoil.

In the future, all high end items will be a no-go for me, you never know if they suddenly drop to the point where they are pocket change. I also think I am not alone with this thought.

Will you do anything to address this issue?

From an economic point of view, it is just a new equilibrium. Higher risk should in theory (not including inflation) just lower prices. So really it is not a problem. And who says it is a total spoil? You assume you lost its full value, which you didn't.

Thank you for the lesson in life. I will very much take your advice to heart, and it was dumb of me to value the game higher the life, as I previously said I did.
