" The magnitude of the hit matters, it's +12.5% of the hit's damage per second for a damage effectiveness of 2x total (Or around 1.55 after resistance that absolutely will be there) for basic Viper Strike. Attacking faster merely causes the DPS to more closely stick to the median. Using Two Handed swords with it would be fine, aside from the fact that Daggers are grotesquely five million times more powerful than every other weapon in the game while non-mace two handed weapons have... drawbacks for scant gain. What you appear to miss is how VS Chaos charges can be stacked without limit, meaning there is likewise no limit on how high the total Chaos DoT dps can reach (aside from charge duration limits). Would be interesting to try this against level-7 Vagan... |

There's a very real limit to the damage and it's basically just how much you can stack in the time frame before it expires, so.. DPS conversion per sec x secs for max DPS
In any case, I would ignore the chaos damage stat and focus on the fact that it gives increase life leech rate which can be very desirable.
