Died to Strongbox lag and suggestions so this never happens again

As far as my observerations go, this won't help, since cosmetic effects are either in the shadercache (on disk) or are downloaded.

Depending on what and how stuff spawns hardware starts pushing a lot of data around, and may fetch addional stuff via download or from the cache.

And depending on your hardware, it may take a few ms to seconds, and in exact this time you may desync and die, since your pc is busy loading/rendering stuff while monsters on the server attack you.

That said, preloading is a viable solution to that problem, it lightens the load on the client and is cheap and easy to implement.

A solution is to defrag your PoE Directory/Folder or the ShaderCache with defrag or defraggler (google it), that may reduce load times.

I don't know if you checked the rest of that post, since in the spoiler I did mention preload, I was just saying that it'd show the locked so that ppl know that what is happening after the first click.

No matter how many locks you apply to the strongbox, it may kill you of the tech-stuff that is happening, that is what most people don't understand and it may happen even if you use mines.

There is already a loading screen, why not wait a second longer to fetch all the needed resources (even the cosmetic stuff) instead of downloading it adhoc and risking desync/resync?

There is no need for an game-mecha-way to reassure you want to open the box, it is quite okay to open a box by using a skill while your pointer is on the box, even accidently.
