I think tedious and god mode hack is words you're looking for.

D3 was hardcore on original inferno - way more than this game - until they nerfed it to the ground because all the babies crying. ELites took 5min to beat. Had enrage. Had super healing. Diablo 15 min. Go watch kripps old videos before carebear patch 1.3 - which made him quit and come here BTW.

true, but most incarnations of crit in gaming aren't as extreme as PoE's... a chance of set bonus damage is pretty typical, and being able to increase that chance isn't uncommon, but being able to increase critical damage as well as applying very potent status effects on crit are both relatively rare elsewhere in gaming... GGG's gone kinda over-the-top with crit potential here.


Besides, it's not like crit's gonna be wiped out of the game or even made unviable if/when it gets nerfed... more than likely it'll just be a rebalancing of innate weapon crit chances and/or possible modifications to base crit damage by weapon type. Hopefully it'll also involve better means for non-crit builds to apply status affects as well (my thought being a few nodes after RT that give attacks a decent chance to apply each status effect while also enabling a % of physical attack damage to contribute to those status effect magnitudes; that'll make it completely mutually-exclusive with crit)

My non-crit characters would beg to differ. When you're about to pass out from boredom in maps over level 70 you know something is wrong (and these characters can't progress further through skill tree nor gem levels - the only way up would be mirrored gear which as a self found player I can't obtain), and I don't think it's in GGG's interest to have a bored playerbase. If you can't pewpew your way through content there's no incentive to play.

Wont care at all. If I play in next season (busy at studies etc. PoE is a great game) I will play crit bow ranger (maybe shadow) of some sort and I don't care much about all this "omg crit is OP" crap. I don't care at all.

And about my investments etc. I always delete all currency, characters and items the second they hit a permanent league =) So I don't give a flying #%"& about my time / exalt investment.
I will cry hard for about 15 seconds. The tear pool will reach my ankles! Then I'll inflate my life preserver and survive it. Because it's a video game.

Oh really. I mentioned crit and max block in my edited post I forgot about max resits too where you can face tank anything and take no damage.
