A guide has been posted here which covers general aspects and strategies of racing.

A summary of Time based events:

Timed based events are new type of event introduced in Race Season 9, they are designed to create a new kind of competitive environment where players compete not by character experience, but by their capabilities to progress through the game and complete specific objectives, such as killing bosses.

The boss required to be defeated for this race is: Piety, located in Lunaris Temple Level 3.

  • The time recorded is based from the beginning of the race, not when your character is created.
  • Characters will not appear on the ladder until they have completed the objective.
  • Characters are not required to have completed the time based objective in order to receive points for the other objectives, such as points awarded for reaching certain levels.
  • Characters who die after completing the objective, will still be counted for receiving reward points except for the level-specific prizes.
  • Points are awarded at the end of the race, do not delete your characters until they have been moved to the permanent leagues.

Entered portal to refresh pots, hear Fidelitas hit sound while on loading screen, game disconnects with error "the character is out of your league and you know it", logging in - I'm in Standard. gg, GGG. :'C GG!
Playing with 70-80ms ping, which is causing long loading between zones,
resulting in 2-4 minutes disadvantage in 1 hour races.
(I was wrong, it wasn't a ping issue but something else on GGG side)
One shot by discharge mob, really some of the worst mobs added to the game, so glad we have had them around for over two years.

Getting one shot with 35 lightning resist in normal act 3 is just plain stupid, and shows a very clear lack of game design because these monsters are only really tough when you're not capped, in normal.

This is how you ruin the experience of the game for average players, with monsters that are poorly balanced.

Soem of the best gear\RNG ive ever had, yet this is the 2nd time I've been one shot by charges in a progression race, one of the FEW races that actually SHOULD reward people for dying at certain points of progression, yet you get absolutely nothing for the time spent.

Time to stop balancing PVP and start balancing the actually popular game mode.

Yep, death by disconnect for me as well... not worth trying to go back in and get enough levels for points. These long races should have a point penalty (say, cut your points in half) rather than go all the way to zero.

Accidentally vendored my tendrils at the start of the race so had to remake Scion. Don't race while being tired.

Corrupted Solaris 1 and Lunaris 2. What are ya gonna do.

basic desync death in waterways while leaping. Somehow got stuck to air on straight part for 3 leaps... Pls make desync detection work better and make that /oos cooldown more reasonable.

started 10 minutes late and took it slow the one time everyone and their mother plays duelist
Felt like I was going for a full clear achievement, did Piety with lvl 29 or something. Went for Sword nodes but found the axe so I basically ran around with no points into any damage nodes that count. Still oneshot everything white going to Piety. 900 life though!

Now THATS a sword!

Also had a lovely selection of rings to choose from:

I explored all of Solaris 2 (as usual) and got a corrupt dead end in sewer waterway but the rest was real smooth.
