Logging out/alt+f4 to escape death in hc
" calling alt-f4 an exploit....LOL!!!! seriously? When you judge another, you do not define them, you define yourself

I've never Alt-F4ed before, but I certainly can imagine a situation when I might need it. I remember one time when I got surrounded, ran out, and still was taking damage. 5 seconds later - no enemies on the screen - still taking damage.
WTF. My life usually goes up even when I take damage, and now it's staying steady... and THERE'S NO FREAKING ENEMIES ON THE SCREEN. Panic mode on. Popping potions like mad- 5 secs later, found myself back where I was 10 seconds ago. If I was thinking more clearly, I would have Alt-F4. Bad game design puts you in a situation where there's nothing you can do but panic. Alt-F4 is good game design :) Last edited by HoroBoro#0665 on Feb 7, 2013, 2:57:39 AM

" Belittling other people who perceive the situation differently than you isn't going to help your cause. |

" Aha So kripp sucks too, right? He didn't alt+f4 but ESC/Exit Game which is the same, but slower. |

This is at least the third topic about this over the last few days. :D
Personally, I think it's cheap to save your butt by Alt+F4-ing out of the game and anyone who uses it, especially in HC, is pretty much cheating. It's probably by design - because they do have to protect people from legit disconnections somehow - but I wouldn't mind it being changed. What have you become when even nightmares fear you?

" Please fix the game so I don't desync horribly. Then you can implement that. |

hardcore players crying about a proposed nerf to alt f4, exit game, exit to login screen, unplug network cable, reset computer, power failures.

" exactly, first solve the TRUE problems then nerf the alt-f4...after all alt-f4 closes programms since the begining of windows...maybe nerf pcs also!! the OP and those that say alt-f4 is cheap are clueless (at least) When you judge another, you do not define them, you define yourself

I dont like the ability to instantly leave the game either. I especially dont like that monsters and mechanics are apparently now being balanced around it. The delay on leaving the game was probably the only thing D3 got right- replacing "player skill required" with "instant bails countered by random 1-shots" is a poor design choice, simple as that.
Anyway, i expect the devs will have a change of heart when the first public chicken hack equivalents go live. IGN: KoTao
