The horadic cube is a controversial topic. It essentially means that every item is scrapped.

This is the opposite of "panning for gold" from a "crap piñata".

Also, I'd point out that runspeed is not the only way to get around. Various movement skills do exist. So you'd almost want N% reduced runspeed, cast speed, and movement speed, if you go that route.

Lastly, the Horadic Cube isn't all that original. More original would be having map affixes where you are accompanied by various companions, and one could be a merchant riding a donkey (vendor). But actually, I'd rather take it another step away from even that.

I'd like to see more random zone events in general.

So I'd have some random events where you accompany a merchant from point a to point b (and you can vendor with him and go back to point b to still find him), and perhaps another where he just follows you around for the remainder of a map after you rescue him from a bandit camp. This is to say that I'm ok with letting people occasionally have the opportunity to vendor every item, but not really sure how I feel about a persistent inventory device.

Another random zone event could have you rescue an elderly man from a cage who follows you around for the remainder of the map, and if you talk to him he id's any un-ided items in your inventory. (Or perhaps with him all items just drop id'ed)

I'm saying that people are asking for these things in persistent ways, but I'd rather see them as temporary special events.
i agree 100% with this there has been 1 tooo many times where you lose out on crap loot to vender out of maps because not enough inventory space and only 6 portals to do it in gg idea

A portable vendor, at the cost of inventory space and 10% movement speed.

Discuss.

Edit: Inventory space would be used more for alternative potions/equipment/gems you could swap in certain occasions, instead of being filled almost exclusively by items you collect from the ground.

Let's see.

I give up 10% movement speed, when my build already has so much that I don't even care to remember it, and I get to vendor all of the items in a map without having to go back even once.

OR

I don't give up 10% movement speed, am limited to six portals, or six inventories of items and currency, and dying results in a net loss of map value.

Hmm...

No, I think this idea should've not been made.

+1, some nice ideas there. Something to make you feel lucky when you encounter it, not something you take for granted.
Perhaps masters could act as vendors even when not in town.

Really like this Idea but it makes Botters much stronger!-)
Trading DpS with Monsters for Loot will ever best Ratio!-)
Sitting in Town, flipping Items until all Gear is biS,
and get fastly bored from running Maps instead of grinding Upgrades is no Resolution!

These are some excellent ideas. I really like feedbacks like these.

I know the cube is not original and it may be unbalanced/too mandatory. But I'd really like to see something like it in the game.. I still have to figure out the right way though and this may be a step in the right direction. :)

Thx again for participating in this discussion.

Perhaps if the inventory portable vendor, which is what this is, had some serious drawbacks it would be an option.

Movement speed would have to be something similar to 50% less. 10% reduced is nothing.

Reducing IIQ/IIR would be a good way, seeing how you can sell all items but those items have some serious MF drawbacks when they drop.

Or reduced maximum resistances, somewhere around 10-20%, might make it a worthwhile decision.
How about a map mod "Drops only currency"? Or drops lots of stuff, but all blue/yellow/unique items drop as their vendorprice (minus a penalty) in shards?

This would allow pure grinding. Downside is: You can't find any uniques or great rares.

I wonder how many people would play this. I wouldn't :)
