Character Name Conficts

Trying to troll me are you! :D
Okay then, i looked at your char, "Spectralle". May i guess, ralle is an irl nick, and you merged it with spectral? :D Either that or -.- I am the light of the morning and the shadow on the wall, I am nothing and I am all.

" Nah, she's a summoner hybrid that uses every skill in the game that's 'spectral' or 'spectral-looking', ST, spectres, animate weapon and guardian. And I like to give my scions frenchy-sounding names just as I like giving templars latin-ish and to shadows those that sound like an underground alias. Well, highborn lady or no, she's a spitting image of a french milkmaid, isn't she? :) Can you guess what the one called 'dessalie' does? :) Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

Been quite a long time since i have been checking out french milkmaids, i must admit. In spirit and posture she reminds me of someone i used to know, that's what i think when i see her.
dessalie, for some reason i think desecrate, but something tell's me it is not. What is? There are only two of my PoE chars names that are really special to me, Khaop and Antimeda. I always create names when i go all out, theme names like twoword names are always descriptors of instantaneous thought, not something i truly identify with. I am the light of the morning and the shadow on the wall, I am nothing and I am all. Last edited by Crackmonster#7709 on Feb 25, 2014, 3:05:29 PM

" She uses goddess scorned which is pretty much what the name means. Of course, not really, it sounds much different when said properly, but I like to think this sounds like a real name, just vaguely reminds of its origin after a millennium or so of smoothing rough edges away :) 'Wukongi' is at least pretty obvious, I think. " I'm gonna stab at wukongi, wukong is a champion from league of legends, who uses a staff. So pillar of the caged god? |
|
" Interesting, haven't known about that one, I'm not much of a moba player :) But yes, they based it on the same character from chinese stories, Sun Wukong, 'the monkey king', he used the staff that Pillar was based around. It was probably made the way it is because of monkey king's legendary physical and mental prowess, I guess it would work great for him. And it's 'Wukongi' because it's a mara, I usually make his names Maori-sounding. Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

I am taking it you don't have any issues creating uniques names either!
I am the light of the morning and the shadow on the wall, I am nothing and I am all.

" Well, I usually can come up with something after a while, but it often takes a lot of tries and I sometimes must settle on something that isn't really 100% intended. But the thing is, unique names are not a feature, they are a lack of feature, and one that's very neat to have for those that care about it. Something like the console command that could list all item affixes, useless for most people but some would give their left nut for it. There i must disagree, to me it is a mark of quality that there are unique names.
I am the light of the morning and the shadow on the wall, I am nothing and I am all.

" There is nothing "quality" in this bad design, paraphrasing some "environmental lore". And on the other hand, I wonder, when GGG will allow to use national characters in characters names? Did they heard about UNICODE or such news haven't reached southern hemisphere yet? Or maybe it's another "great quality feature"? Why we can't use spaces? Sorry, but I don't accept underlining as space equivalent. For such "quality design" it should be not a problem to allow spaces in characters names. Anticipation slowly dissipates...
