[Build of the week S4E8] Havrd's Burning Arrow Marauder [Bloodlines][1.3]

I was using Vaal Burning Arrow in the beginning. But I stopped using it because everything already dies instanly with the normal burning arrow. It just gives you a second set of traps with a little bit more damage. But I very rarely run out of traps so I never really used it and later swapped it for other gems. I guess the aoe is nice for some situations (Phylacteral Link for example).

Ok, I spent more time on checking your build out and its not that bad as I first though. But I still think my build has more advantages(more damage, more aoe, clever construction, acrobatics, easier to get going,...).

I think its just a playstyle question like i stated earlier. Clever Construction is a great point for sure, but with playing smart i seldom lose my traps. Just watch any of my map-runs, so you can count how many times they get destroyed. But its a very nice Keystone for sure.

And how do you know if you have more damage? Pretty sure its basically even, like i also stated in my latest reply. Alot of discussion has already happened on this thread about Mara vs Shadow, and some favor Shadow, but only because of Clever Construction, not damage and not HP or mitigation.

More damage nodes from the tree and 10 % addional elemental penetration, also the 20 % incraesed aoe is really good.
The best thing ofc is clever construction. I dont wanna play without it anymore. How do you even kill the woman who casts arc ?

And why is it a gigantic mistake not to use vaal burning arrow ? Its a good skill but as I was saying I didnt felt the need of using it, so I dropped it.

Edit: Also my HP is almost even to yours.

Thoughts on Rashkaldor's Patience? http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Rashkaldor%27s_Patience

Seems like a perfect new unique for your build: life/mana are always good, reduced attribute requirement means you can have an easier time gearing (or even save some passive points), increased ignite chance, and you don't use power charges so the downside is gone.

The "20% increased Duration of Elemental Status Ailments on Enemies" seems like a huge boost too, though I haven't gotten far enough yet to tell if the longer duration will matter, or if enemies die fast enough for the current burn duration (still lameblasting following your guide).

I have thought about it, although it seems pretty solid there are a few worries i have with equiping it.

Pros

1. Reduced attribute requirements means i might be able to drop my last +30 dex node in the tree. Not going to complain about getting +1 skillpoint.

2. Hp + Mana is ok~ish... kinda?

3. Ignite chance is nice, but i already have 100% (with curse) i have like 90% without the curse, so i guess it will help alot when doing curse immune maps.

4. Ignite duration is only nice for boss-singletarget.

Cons

1. There is alot of damage to be gotten on an amulet
mine is not even that good, but that base fire damage is insane for dps. This is a piece i can do alot of upgrading on in terms of fire damage% and base fire/phys damage.

2. Resists, if i opt for going this amulet it would require REALLY good boots/helm/belt and gloves to get my resistances back. Getting to just capped is easy, but i want to be OVERcapped so i can run elem-weak maps. The resistance loss also makes it so that i CANNOT get a rearguard with +1 arrow (still working on it) and that is so huge that its a no-brainer.

3. 20% Ignite duration is actually really low, i would much rather corrupt a bunch of burning arrows that already have high Quality and get the duration on a vaal burning arrow that way.
if you look at the Vaal burning arrow i have here in HC, i got it to turn into Vaal Burning Arrow with a Vaal orb, and it gives a staggering 51% duration.

------------------------------

So that are my thoughts about it, it actually looks like GGG tried to make a unique that would help out my build. Time will tell if i change my mind about it. But as of right now, im not impressed.

If GGG want to help out my build, they should showcase it in build of the week already Kappa

Hi, thumbs up for making this build guide.

I wanted to make a Bow Tank build, would like to ask your feedback/advice with this tree:

Path of PoE tree

Official PoE tree

PoE Builder tree

Since I am going stun,, not sure what skill to use. Burning Arrow + HoA overkill? or RoA or Split?

Thanks in advance!

I have been thinking, and i think Rain of arrows would be what you are looking for. The only thing i see wrong in your tree is that if you want to go Rain of arrows is that you will be needing projectile speed.
Without projectile speed Rain of arrows feels really slow.

Yeah I agree with the projectile speed. So I might go with Lightning arrow (though I need to go over the mechanics of it again). Then Burn Arrow or Puncture for single target. Someone also suggested and experienced Barrage for stunning.

updated tree

Since I won't go IR. I think I'll get Cloth and Chain instead of Armour Mastery.
Also dropped RT, since I have a accuracy from the tree, good idea?
Bow tank that uses both Armour and Evasion (since armour is only good for small hits, getting too much armour is a waste, i was told).

I generally just wanted a Bow Toon that is played like a melee tank. Fortunately, I can easily spec in/out stun mastery.

I would take RT just because if you are actually trying to stunlock things missing would suck.

No idea what skill you should use either, thinking iceshot would be nice just because of how good it is with pierce chance.

Stacking alot of armour can be really useful, it mostly depends on what other things you are using as defence. This is more important in a HC league though. So going around 10k armour and some evasion should be enough.

Im not an expert on stunning builds though, your idea is differing alot from what my build is :)
