fps capped to 60??
Hey!
I have max 60 fps all the time and i would love to get more around 120. I have good pc and should get more easily. I tried to put reso to 800 and all specs off but still 60. Havent found anything on nvidia central either. Any ideas or maybe a solution..? Thanks |

turn off Vsync in game settings

It would stand to reason that you have vsync enabled. Most displays run at 60Hz. If the video card cannot reach the same sync as the monitor, it will halve the sync rate, so even on 120Hz displays, you could be locked at 60FPS, or 30FPS when the graphics get intense.
You can use a "frame limiter" in certain video card utilities like Nvidia Inspector instead of vsync, if you need the ability to prevent wasteful GPU processing. |

i have 60hz screen... could it be the problem...
This is so weird haha |

ok vsync off i get 200 but screen lags so it feels like its around 40-50 fps. is it the 60hz monitor then?

In this game you cant achieve stable FPS, because it preloads to many resources from your HDD.

keep in mind that having 200fps is completely useless if your refresh rate is 60hz.
you cannot render video faster than the refresh rate of the display, and there is no other benefit to having a higher fps. it's useless and needlessly stressing your video card. so I ask you a question. why do you think you want 120fps+? |

And furthermore it is not just useless (for example, a video card instead of 100 watts will consume 200, 100 of which will go nowhere. After all you are paying for the electricity, right?) but in addition you'll get the screen tearing effect and will lose capacity reserve.

" Not entirely true. In games such as path of exile yes, over 60 frames on a 60hz display make little (or no) difference. The game has a fixed camera perspective, no fast camera movements are made, so input lag on the camera makes little difference. However, switch to a first person game where fast twitch movement is needed (like, for example, counter strike) and 120 frames (or more) actually make a difference. You can't visually see them, however input response will be much faster, input lag will be decreased, and especially for people with faster reflexes in fast paced games it can make the experience much more comfortable. Yes, this will often result in screen tearing. Screen tearing is more apparent on certain monitors, while it can be nearly non-noticeable in others. And yes, it will make the GPU have a higher power draw. However, if you're worried about power draw, having an 80+ titanium rated PSU will probably have a bigger impact long term. " How about reading the thread from the beginning? OP has a 60 hertz monitor and wants 120fps, conversation only about this. And the tears of the screen are not associated with the camera position or something like that. Any image arriving at the monitor is simply 2d picture, for the monitor is no difference between CS and Tetris when PC thing to put 2 frames in place of 1 and PoE is no exception. Try to use the search to relieve. http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/671783 http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/503311 |
