Item hunt is still atrociously bad
" It happens when you find, let's say, a decent HP 2 res item early on and can't find anything better in 20-40 lvls :/ So you have outleveled this item by let's say 30 lvls and it's no more relevant to the content you are doing, but you can't replace it and it's glued on you as a post stamp. And I swear, this happens too often. This is a buff © 2016 The Experts ™ 2017 Last edited by torturo#7228 on Aug 25, 2014, 8:49:46 AM

" That makes more sense to me now ( thank you ). I guess this mostly applies to jewellry and yeah I wasn't thinking of jewellry as gear. Now that I do think of it, I'll probably wear the same rings from act 2 normal right into 78 maps. All I want for rings is 2 diamonds with some HP and I have 2 that are 28 and 29 which is as good as any diamond ring I'll find 60 levels from now....so 100% agreed the mod tier ranges are quite pathetic. echo "The world is full of smart people" |sed -e 's/smart people/sheep/'

" Its not limited to jewelry at all. Find any kind of item with dual res and life early on, and you will probably wear it until the endgame. |

Dropped somewhere in Act 1/2/3 normal, still wearing in Act 2 cruel : There's not too much you can do about it, if you can't find anything useful, you'll have to stick to your lowlevel stuff. ;) Rest of gear, sucks as well: Selfcrafted levelling weapons (alchemys on rustic sashes, turned out shitty, so used them for recipe with whetstones): I could probably farm and/or craft some upgrades, but why should I care? The farming/crafting results would be midlevel items, no reason to invest any currency at this point. And the items above are still more than enough to beat the content. 3.5 build: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2299519 Last edited by Peterlerock#5171 on Aug 25, 2014, 12:50:24 PM

" LOOL [insert stuff that puts me on probation] They are not content they quit. :) The notion of drop rates being retardetly low is a fact. In addition no class targeted drops so as a Marauder I end up with BS bows, quivers and wands. Masturbators only grant low stats (for insane price). As always elite players and bots sit on good items and charge arm and leg for it so Path of RMT presents the only way for casual players to progress... @OP: low expectatiions are key in PoE. Do not hope for drops, just farm strongboxes for 2 months get currency and buy gear from bots. Maybe you can get few weeks of fun before they reset again. Rinse and repeat. Hell is what I bring with me, not the place one goes.

" I like how you described the other five Charan was hinting at. Here's my take on the present situation, 5 out of 6 players don't give a shit that the drop rates are abismal and they quit 1 week after league starts, come back in 3 months to check if anything changed for drops and quit a week in again.... rinse repeat, rinse repeat. Nice records of online players for this week though. echo "The world is full of smart people" |sed -e 's/smart people/sheep/' Last edited by buhdunkadunk#6538 on Aug 25, 2014, 12:40:15 PM

I'm bumping this post to mostly highlight gh0un's posts (which I broadly agree with, especially with respect to distinguishing "the item hunt" from "crafting") for GGG to read and consider, but I also want to take the opportunity to say that I really have no idea why GGG hasn't implemented a class-based bias for drops, seeing that it would help with stronger class identity, something GGG is known to prefer, as well as new player experience, given that new players are more likely to follow on-class avenues for their characters' development. One could extend this to self-found as well -- due to how rewards are structured, self-found players are less likely to consider off-class builds, especially for their first character in a league.
I will note however that the addition of Vorici greatly helps the feeling of a good Rare dropping. Excluding body armors and two handed weapons, the player no longer has to worry about wasting too many Jewelers and Fusings on that sweet EV/ES rare with one red socket, in the very worst case you can farm 60 Alterations -- which will take comparatively little time --, convert those to Jewelers and Fusings, and enjoy your 4-link quality Rare, guaranteed. Otherwise, I honestly -- and I don't mean this passive-aggressively -- don't think GGG will do anything to remedy the issue of too much junk dropping -- they are aware of it, and they have added Crafting as a mitigating measure. I don't think any other change fits in with their economy-based big picture, which doesn't concern itself with the individual item-hunt of a single player but the collective item-hunt of entire leagues' populations. I do wish, however, that they would reconsider currency drop rates periodically, as the current rates hail from an entirely different game. I don't think they will do this either, but until they do, ventiman's suggestion, worded less aggressively, makes sense to me. Have you made a cool build using The Coming Calamity? Let me know! Item hunt is fine to me. Especially now with masters so you can beef up your almost good items.
I am totally self found and will cream dom by weeks end. I am saving my currency too (for flipping operations once I hit maps and to get GG gear for atziri again) so only enchanted like 2 things so far. Git R Dun! Last edited by Aim_Deep#3474 on Aug 26, 2014, 6:02:17 AM

Actually, there has been more loot/possibilities league after league .... but people will keep complaining, again and again.
Beyond gives more loot and the masters also do, I don't really know about rampage though. It seems that most people on this forum ( at least this section ) have just too high expectations about the droprates, but it's not the game that should just change for them because they want things easier, they can also adapt. That's what I've got sofar in beyond ( only lvl 35, haven't spent much time on in yet ), and .... it's enough to progress, and it's enough to have fun and reach higher difficulties. I got excited when I got that Topaz ring from lady Dialla yesterday, first nice item so far :
stuff that's enough
And I definitely don't think that RNGesus is making me favor there lol. SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading. Last edited by Fruz#6137 on Aug 26, 2014, 7:58:29 AM
