Lag Spikes

This is the first time I've played poe on this laptop. My FPS fluctuates between 1-150 FPS while playing solo whilst my latency ranges is spiking from 30-900. I don't think I am having network issues as the laptop I usually play on (both using wireless internet) has a latency around 30-60 and doesn't jump up to what I'm receiving on this laptop. I also temporarily disabled my antivirus and that didn't help either.

Can you please repeat the WinMTR report with around 500 packets as that will give a better chance to diagnose any issues with your connection?
Please contact support@grindinggear.com if you need any assistance.

edit: tried playing on the american gateway to see whether it was more stable.. nope. Latency jumped between 200 to 2900.

I take it you are removing several lines of the test before posting here OP? you would normally have at least another 2 lines if not more...regardless every line is vital to a proper diagnosis of any potential problem so pleas post them, if you feel the need for privacy then edit the IP addresses so it would look like

But since you are trying to connect to the AU server i'll have a guess that you are being routed through telstra which has been having problems ( at least yesterday on and off for 24 hours ish)

Edited post above with more info
Hi Etonette,

Your first hop is getting some noticeable (108ms) latency spikes, which leads me to believe your wireless connection is probably the source of the issue. I'd recommend trying to connect with a wired connection for a while as that should smooth things out.

Please let us know if this isn't the case though.

If my other laptop is also connecting by wireless and having no lag spikes then I don't understand why this one should be. However I will try connect tomorrow with an ethernet cord to see whether it makes a difference.
So I tried playing connected with an ethernet cable and while I still get some crazy lag spikes (200-800 ish) they aren't as often as they were compared to using wireless and it seems to be stable overall.

Currently plugged using an ethernet cable and the problem is still reoccurring. Whenever poe has a lag spike everything in the background does (i.e. youtube). I've tested poe without youtube running and I still get these lag spikes but when I'm not running poe everything is fine.

Your trace is showing an issue on your first hop.. which is your router or modem (or both).

Try rebooting both and see if that alters the problem at all... otherwise, you might have something wrong with the hardware, or some QoS setting that is causing an issue. It's definitely showing a similar spike to what your in-game latency graph is showing... throughout your whole trace, but starting at the first hop.

Good luck.
