I would chose to sacrifice myself. I would like to be the only person to get spaghetti-fied by a black hole, let alone the only person to even come within thousands of light years of one (technically we are within "thousands" of light years of a black hole, Sagitarius A*, and any other in the universe since you can always count in mutiples of a thousand, but you get my point).
But anyway... the x-rays and gamma rays would probably kill you before you got to the horizon i would guess, but just theoretically speaking it would be cool. To see the acretion disk and everything... and who knows what you would see if you could pass over the horizon safely.
